"This is the pilot speaking, please fasten your seatbelts as in 2 minutes we are going to land in Cheju"
Hearing the announcement the group was really happy. Kang Sae woke up hearing that, Bu Sen and Kim Sui were playing games. Weiyi was enjoying the view while talking to Tae Li.
Kang Sae was really glad to see the group, for someone who never had a family. They were like a family to him. Something he wish would be forever, something he would protect at all costs.
The plane started to descend, all of them fastened their seat belts. The next moment the wheel of the place touched the ground and it made a smooth landing in the island of Cheju.
"Welcome to the Cheju island, the temperature is 23 degree celsius and the weather is rainy, please carry your umbrellas"
The people starts to walk towards the gate, as it opened the people exited the plane. The group was finally inside the airport now. There they made a call to the HQ, amidst that came walking unit 3 leader.
"I see so my puppies have reached", said Seo Mina.
"I think its better for us to cooperate rather than making noise", said the captain.
"Oh yeah right, but do you really think we will allow fodder like him?", Seo Mina pointed her finger to Weiyi.
"What is your problem with Weiyi?", asked the captain with a cold tone.
"Hm...he is a fodder that is the problem", replied Seo Mina.
"Fodders are much better than useless scums", replied Kang Sae.
"Kuku...watch your mouth you inferior creature", said her assistant.
"Come on!!", ordered the captain as he walked away ignoring them.
The rest of the group stared at them with contempt, they walked away along with Kang Sae.
"Captain why are they like this to us and Weiyi?", asked Bu Sen.
"She considers herself to be one of the strongest in the legion", replied the captain.
With a foul face Bu Sen accepted captain's words. But her behaviour had hurt Weiyi. His eyes were downcast again. Tae Li noticed the change in his face.
"ALERT!!!"
"Hm...our smartphones!!?"
All of them quickly took their smartphones and there was an alert. It was a direct commander from the chairman, it read.
"DIRECTLY HEAD TOWARDS WARD C13"
"APPERANCE OF A SHADE OF UNKNOWN RANKING CONFIRMED"
The unit member activated their suits, seeing that Weiyi wore his armour. Weiyi couldn't use a suit as it heavily relied on mana which he never possessed.
The car was already waiting, they ran inside it and it just took off from there. With Wieyi barely hanging on the side of the door. He crept inside the car and closed the door.
A downpour started in the region, all the weather apps notified about an upcoming thunderstorm till 1 AM.
"Captain a thunderstorm warning till 1 AM!!", Tae Li informed Kang Sae.
"This is the worst case scenario", remarked Kang Sae.
They had already arrived there, outside stood the unit 3 members wearing their, giving the unit 6 member a humiliating smile. They instantly teleported to location of the Shade.
Opening the door Weiyi dashed to the barricade, taking to a quick leap and activating his shade detection watching. In an instant the watch located the shade and he ran to that place.
The others got out of the car and teleported to the place. The place was near, the moment they reached there, Weiyi also appeared there and before them it stood.
Meditating on a rock with in prayer position. On the ground lay the torso, head, hands and legs of the people it had devoured.
For some reason Seo Mina felt different, her equipment that detected the power of a shade showed error.
It was the same with Kang Sae...the device was not working. And if the device was not working there is only one conclusion.
Seo Mina took a huge breath and calmed her nerves. She paid no attention to her team members and didn't bother to inform them.
"My comrades, this is the strongest we have faced till now", Kang Sae said.
"This old man wit the long hair is the strongest?", asked Bu Sen.
"A C rank or perhaps B rank", said Kim Sui.
"As per my perception this shade is an SSS rank one", the captain declared boldly.
Each of their eyes widened and heart started to beat faster. The smell of sea made the nauseous for no reason. The sound of the rain pierced into their ears and cold sweat ran down their face.
Seo Mina just summoning her axe, entered the shade's range. She angled her weapon to pierce its throat. The rain drops ran through her face, seeing that shade not moving she was overjoyed.
"I am the strongest", she muttered.
SFX: THRSSHHH!!
She couldn't see it.
She couldn't feel it.
Neither could she react to it.
It was futile.
The axe just broke into two pieces, with his bear palms he broke the sharp axe into two.
Without sparring any time, the shade caught the sharp edge of the axe and slashed Seo Mina's face.
He threw that same piece, and jammed it into the chest of her assistant who fell on to the water covered ground, growling with pain.
"Nah...why is this happening to us?", asked Bu Sen.
The rest of Seo Mina's unit members ran away, the cowardice of her unit made Seo Mina to tremble. Although her eyes were slashed off, she could feel the betrayal.
FUTILE...
The members who ran had their bodies cut into two, while the shade stood there peacefully meditating.
"Isn't there no warrior amongst you?", asked the Shade. The mere pressure of his voice made Bu Sen and Kim Sui to fall on the ground. The paralysis due to fear made them to pray.
Tae Li was still on her feet, but trembling. The cold rain along with the fear froze her.
"God please help us", she begged looking into the sky.
But only the rain poured...without no emotion the drops fell onto her eyes.
Kang Sae drawing his sword, using his flash step appeared directly above the shade. Aiming to slash off his head. With no worry for his life he had decided to get into his range.
BUT THERE WAS NO MERCY...
Kang Sae's hand flew in the air, spraying blood along with the rain drops. Even after losing his one hand, he summoned a knife in his other hand. To stab it into the shade's throat.
The God was not with him...
In an instant Kang Sae had his chest slashed, just due to the air. The shade opened its eyes, and its hands moved from the prayer position. Clenching his fists, the hand extended towards Kang's head.
SFX: THRSSSHHHKKKK!!!!
The sound of an explosion erupted from that impact. Sending Kang Sae into the sea. He sunk deep into the sea, his eyes cold. His breath ceased, making that water red he disappeared into the abyss.
In that rain, the footsteps of the someone echoed. Kim Sui and Bu Sen looked up. Tae Li also looked. It was none other than...
Gu Weiyi.
With a fire burning in his eyes, he stared down the shade. Without moving his eyes an inch he walked to him.
The shade smiled for the first time...
"That look is demonic boy", the shade remarked.
"..."
Gu Weiyi was silent as still water. Just the sound of him walking echoed in that rain.
"What the hell are you doing fool?", asked Seo Mina who lay there, like broken statue.
Gu Weiyi grabbing his sword ran to the shade to stab him. At that moment he had his legs cut off. Blood sprayed on the ground but still his eyes was focused on the shade.
"Ken", he whispered.
The sword extended and stabbed into the shade's chest. The shade couldn't react to that attack.
"Among you all, he is the first one to ever make me bleed", said the shade.
Even with his legs cut off, he crawled on the ground heading towards the shade. Grabbing another weapon from his pocket. This time it was a ball.
That instant, the shade cuts off Weiyi's arms. The ball fell on the ground. Weiyi smiled looking at the shade.
The confused shade observed the ball that was moving on its own. The ground started to move and out of nowhere appeared thousands of chains that bound the shade to the ground.
Using the shade's power, he broke some of he chains. The more he tried to break, the more appeared.
"You can't move...because you are tied to the core of the Earth", whispered Weiyi.
"What can you do brat?", asked the shade.
"Weiyi lets go home...", Tae Li whispered. Her mind had gone berserk due to the shock.
"Please...come home with me", she begged again.
Brutally bending his upper body, Weiyi took the gun from his pocket using his teeth. Merely holding with his teeth, he pointed it at the shade.
SFX: BOOM
With his teeth he pulled the trigger, a bullet struck the shade on its chest. From the bullet appeared a chain connecting Weiyi and the shade.
"Weiyi please...", whispered Tae Li.
"Weiyi no...no", Bu Sen muttered.
Kim Sui remembered all the moments when saw Weiyi being bullied. The times when people wooed him. Tears rolled down his eyes. The moments they spent together playing video games and having meals.
In Tae Li's mind came the moments they were alone and the times when he helped Tae Li. The time when Tae li realized that she had fallen for him.
Bu Sen collapsed into the ground, he couldn't handle it anymore.
Looking into the sky, smiled Weiyi. Despite his life being full of dread, in the end he is more than happy. He turned back and smiled at them.
This smile symbolised his act of bravery and self sacrifice for the future. The greatest smile that a slayer can ever have.
"Mia", he uttered.
That moment both the shade and Weiyi disappeared into thin air. Without any trace, as if the heavens had called them.
