Author's Note

Hey everyone.

Ultra here.

Welcome to the world of demons and saints.

This is my latest work.

The Slayer's Ascension.

Before you dive in, I want to clarify a few things so you can get a proper feel for what this novel is about and decide if it is your kind of story.

1. Pacing and progression

This is not a fast-paced novel like my previous work. I am taking a slower, more deliberate approach here. That does not mean the story drags or stands still. Far from it.

This is a slow burn, but every chapter pushes the story forward, peeling back the truth of the world layer by layer.

2. Emotion, dialogue, and tone

This novel carries a lot of emotion. Expect strong dialogue, meaningful character moments, and twists that are both engaging and unexpected.

Just a heads-up. You might shed a few tears, smile the next moment, and then find yourself laughing out loud.

The comedy is sharp and intentional, but do not get it twisted. This is still a fantasy action story. There are plenty of battles, each one deeper, more intense, and easy to visualize.

3. The main character

The main character is not a traditional hero.

He is a child with a tragic past, cursed to become one of the terrors that plague the world, those known as demons.

By a twist of fate, he is granted an Azura, giving him a chance to walk the path of a Saint, a Shural.

Driven by revenge and a burning goal, his very existence contradicts the logic of the world itself. He must find his own path while constantly resisting the demon within him, a presence that desires nothing but death.

4. Story structure

This story is built around multiple engaging arcs, each packed with emotion and backed by real action.

If you are someone who gets hit hard by emotional shocks, consider this a fair warning.

5. Genre and atmosphere

This is a dark fantasy.

There will be tragedy, death, loss, and moments of brutal violence. There will also be warmth, laughter, and genuine human connection.

Still, the story leans far more into darkness than lighthearted comfort.

6. Power progression

This is not an overpowered protagonist story.

The main character starts weak. He grows stronger step by step, both as a Shural and as a demon. His power becomes more volatile and explosive as both sides of his existence develop.

The growth is steady, not rushed. If you enjoy slow, meaningful progression, emotionally driven storytelling, and intense battles, this story will not disappoint.

7. A request from me

If you can, please read at least up to chapter 30 before forming a final opinion.

Constructive criticism is always welcome, as long as it stays respectful. I know I have improved since my last novel, but I am still learning. If you spot errors or flaws, let me know.

If I remember anything else, I will add it later.

For now, enjoy the read.

If you like the story, please show your support. It truly helps more than you know.

Thank you for giving me a chance to entertain you.

Once again, welcome to the world of demons and saints.

Enjoy the read.
