Esme's POV
Escanor wouldn't challenge a Duke. I looked for him everywhere except the front yard. I still couldn't find him.
Despite how wrong he felt, challenging a Duke was one thing I didn't even want the brothers to do, and they had a better chance to win.
"Mistress?"
I froze when I heard Ritch's voice. I ran to him, but my legs buckled due to tiredness. He caught me easily and stooped to the ground.
"Mistress, please, calm down—"
"Did you see Escanor?"
"He wouldn't have gone far. Your uncle is speaking with the Duke. Don't worry, he can't sense my presence either." He spoke, wiping sweat from my forehead.
I relaxed, remaining in his arms until strength returned to my legs. Was Escanor doing this to me because I yelled at him?
With Ritch's assistance, I raised myself from the ground and returned inside the house.
