Chapter 169 - Chapter 169: Declaring War

[Some Time Ago]

While Bhishma Pitamaha and Kunti went outside to talk inside the grand hall of Hastinapur a heated discussion was taking place.

"But we have some conditions for you to marry Princess Dusshala, You have to make her the queen of Anga. As for your already fiancee Princess Draupadi can become the second wife, and your other fiancees could be your mistresses. Say, do you accept Angraj Karna?"

Mahamantri Vidur announced the conditions to Karna with a smirk on his face.

Karna, standing tall with his characteristic resilience, listened to the conditions proposed by Mahamantri Vidur. The court's eyes were on him, waiting for his response.

ROOOAAARRR!!!

GRRROOOWLLLL!!!

But instead of Karna's response, Two monstrous roars erupted, shaking the very foundations of the grand hall. The courtiers and citizens turned their attention to the source of the commotion, their eyes widening with shock and awe.

In a dramatic entrance, two massive creatures materialized in the grand hall—each exuding an aura of primal power. One was a majestic White Lion with a magnificent mane; the other was a fierce and furious-looking pitch-black dragon with glowing red eyes.

The lion and dragon stood beside Karna, their presence commanding attention. The court fell into an astonished hush as the creatures roared and growled, their eyes fixed on Mahamantri Vidur and the courtiers.

"Wh-what is the meaning of this?" Mahamantri Vidur stammered, taken aback by the sudden appearance of the mythical creatures.

"My answer," Karna's cold and authoritative voice broke through the stunned silence. As an aura more intense and bloody, two beasts released from Karna whose eyes turned crimson red for a brief moment, which again turned into his normal golden gaze.

The courtiers and citizens could feel the potent energy radiating from Karna, now accompanied by the mythical lion and dragon.

"You, Mahamantri Vidur time and time again test my patience with your schemes and conditions. Do you really think that I can't see through your deceitful ploys?" Karna's eyes blazed with intensity, reflecting the fiery determination within.

"We made you the King Anga in the first place because of our king Dhritarashtra's big heart you live the life of a king otherwise you are just a Sutputra in the eyes of the world," Vidur said with a tone that wavered between defiance and unease.

Karna's gaze remained unyielding, and the mythical creatures by his side exuded an almost protective aura. The court was now divided between those who were awestruck by the sudden appearance of these majestic beings and those who were uneasy about the implications of Karna's power.

"Your attempts to manipulate and control my destiny will not succeed," Karna declared, his voice resonating with a newfound strength. "As for your conditions, I reject them outright. I won't compromise the dignity of the women in my life for political gains."

Vidur, now composed, shot back, "You forget your place, Angraj Karna. You owe your position to the benevolence of the Kuru kings. Defying their will is a grave mistake."

Karna's eyes narrowed, and the air in the hall crackled with tension. The mythical lion and dragon at his side seemed to mirror his resolve.

"If you dare take it from me and the consequences it carries," Karna responded, his words cutting through the atmosphere like a sharpened blade. The lion and dragon by his side emanated a palpable force, reinforcing Karna's unwavering stance.

"ENOUGH!!!"

"You have said enough Sutputra, Just because you possess these mythical creatures does not make you invincible. Your insolence will not be tolerated," Guru Dronachraya who was quiet until now, stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Karna.

The hall, already tense, now felt like it was holding its breath. Karna's gaze shifted from Vidur to Guru Dronacharya, and the mythical lion and dragon at his side stood firm, their eyes fixed on the formidable guru.

"Respect your elders, Angraj Karna. Your defiance carries consequences," Guru Dronacharya's voice echoed through the hall, carrying both authority and a hint of warning.

"I respect those who deserve it, Guru Dronacharya. But I won't bow to unjust impositions, even if they come from those in positions of authority," Karna replied, his tone unyielding.

"I, Dronachraya, would advise you to tread carefully, Angraj Karna. The path of defiance may lead you to a place where even the mightiest warriors falter," Guru Dronacharya warned but his eyes challenged Karna to disregard his warning.

The hall remained in a tense silence, the air thick with anticipation. Karna and Guru Dronacharya locked eyes, each refusing to yield ground. The mythical lion and dragon by Karna's side continued to emanate an aura that spoke of power and determination.

Karna, unswayed by the warning, responded with a calm yet resolute voice, "Guru Dronacharya, I hold immense respect for your prowess in warfare, but I cannot stand idly by while my integrity is compromised. The path I choose may be fraught with challenges, but I am prepared to face the consequences."

"Then prepare Angraj, Prepare for the war that will come at your doorstep, and the choices you make will echo through the annals of history," Guru Dronacharya declared, his words carrying a weight that seemed to hang in the air.

"I always try to avoid wars, But if it happens then only I win, and the ones who dare challenge me will face the consequences," Karna responded, his voice echoing with determination. The mythical lion and dragon by his side seemed to resonate with his conviction, their imposing presence amplifying the gravity of the situation.

Guru Dronacharya, though visibly perturbed by Karna's defiance, remained composed. "Your arrogance blinds you, Angraj Karna. There are forces in play beyond your comprehension. The consequences of your choices may extend far beyond your personal battles."

"I am well aware of the complexities, Guru Dronacharya. But I refuse to be a pawn in the games of others. My choices are my own, and I will bear the weight of their consequences," Karna declared, his eyes never leaving the guru's gaze.

The grand hall, once filled with the tension of political negotiations, now crackled with an impending clash of ideologies. The courtiers and citizens watched with bated breath as the confrontation between Karna and Guru Dronacharya unfolded, each moment pregnant with significance.

King Dhritarashtra, seated on his throne, intervened, "Enough of this discord! Angraj Karna, heed my words. The path you choose will have repercussions not only for you but for the entire realm. Is this the legacy you wish to leave?"

Karna, undeterred, replied, "My legacy will not be one of compromise and submission. It will be forged in the fires of my convictions. If the price is war, so be it."

The king sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation. "Very well, Angraj Karna. If war is your choice, you shall bear the consequences. May the gods guide us through these turbulent times."

As the tension in the hall lingered, Karna turned away, the mythical lion and dragon following him as he exited. The courtiers and citizens whispered among themselves, speculating about the brewing conflict and the enigmatic creatures that accompanied Karna.

[Present Time]

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, DRONA???" Bhishma's voice boomed through the grand hall, cutting through the tension like a sword. His eyes, filled with a mix of concern and reprimand, were fixed on Guru Dronacharya.

Guru Dronacharya, although maintaining his composure, met Bhishma's gaze with a steady resolve. "Bhishma Pitamaha, I have merely reminded Angraj Karna of the consequences of his choices. The path of defiance leads to a perilous journey."

"Consequences, Drona, are not always measured in bloodshed and strife. You forget the delicate balance we must maintain for the greater good of Hastinapur," Bhishma admonished, his expression unyielding.

Bhishma's words hung heavy in the air, emphasizing the responsibility that came with power and the delicate alliances that held the realm together. The courtiers and citizens watched the exchange between these venerable warriors, sensing the magnitude of the decisions being made.

Guru Dronacharya, his gaze unwavering, responded, "Bhishma, the delicate balance you speak of often crumbles under the weight of compromise and appeasement. Angraj Karna's refusal to bend to unjust demands may indeed lead to conflict, but it also preserves the integrity we claim to uphold."

Bhishma's eyes narrowed as he considered Drona's words. The hall, once filled with the dramatic confrontation between Karna and Vidur, now witnessed a clash of perspectives between two of its most respected figures.

"Integrity, Drona, is a noble ideal, but it can be a luxury we cannot afford in times of uncertainty," Bhishma retorted, his voice carrying the weight of years of experience. "War is not a path to be tread upon lightly, especially when the very fabric of our kingdom hangs in the balance."

"Do you know Karna's power Drona, You didn't feel the aura his body emits unconsciously-"

Dronacharya, maintaining his calm demeanor, replied, "Bhishma, I am well aware of Karna's formidable power. His aura is undeniable, and the mythical creatures by his side speak of forces beyond our understanding. But it is precisely because of this strength that he must be guided, not left unchecked."

"WE WILL LOSE!"
