Chapter 119 - Enchants

Uriel had been forced to make a choice.

The first path had been one of emotionlessness, turning him into a hollow machine of flesh, endlessly efficient and immutable.

The downsides were evident, but the upsides even more so. Had Uriel chosen this path, calling him a Divinity of Magic would have been the highest of insults.

In a step, he'd have reached a boundary of magic only a very select few had ever been allowed to witness, let alone reach.

Not only that, but he would've also become absolutely immune to all mental attacks, and as a result may have even been able to regain parts of his memory with great effort, breaking part of the Sin's influence.

It was a glorious path, but one without color.

But Uriel was almost convinced that this was one of Thoryl's schemes. What would happen if a man with a Spark attuned to the emotions and the heart suddenly lost all emotions?

He'd have been a cripple, both in soul and body.
