Chapter 36 - Ch 36: Extra Game - Part 4

[You have defeated the boss. Additional EXP has been gained]

[You have leveled up]

Andrew looked at the level increase before he put the system away. Lilianna, Clara and Emperor quickly headed his way once they were done.

"You took care of the other team? So why is this game not over yet?"

Clara asked as she looked around to see if she missed anything. Her eyes landed on the flag and she immediately tried to take it.

But Andrew created a shield around it before Clara or anyone else could take it.

"What's wrong? Is there a trap around the flag? Should we be careful?"

Clara asked, looking back at Andrew.

"I am trying to see if I can get a few more bosses and such from our host by holding the flag hostage. She already added a boss in the mix, so who knows what else she can add."

Clara took a step back as soon as she heard what Andrew told her.

"Oh….that actually makes sense. Alright, I will leave it alone for now."

Clara commented.

Emperor gave Andrew a searching glance and Andrew decided to immediately address that look.

"Do you want to ask me something?"

Emperor scoffed and decided to speak up.

"Hey, are you a reincarnation or something? You seem to know those system's followers awfully well."

"I'm not a reincarnator but…maybe something similar. But don't worry. All you need to know is that I hate the system as much as you do and I am on your side."

Andrew assured Emperor, but he could see the distrust in Emperor's eyes. Despite this, both sides decided not to start a fight with each other because they had a similar goal for now.

They all settled down around the flag and waited for something to happen.

For half an hour, nothing did. And then, the sky started to shake and the half-dragon appeared. She looked agitated and hid it behind her smile.

"Hello, dear participants. I see that you took care of your opponents. But, are you not going to grab the flag and end this game?"

She asked, but no one bothered to get up and pay special attention to her.

"We are not in a hurry to end this game right now. I like all the trees and nature. It's rather soothing."

Lilianna leaned back against the trunk she was leaning against and the half-dragon's eyes twitched at the clear dismissal she was being shown.

"Oh…is that so? Unfortunately, since the other team had already been beaten and the boss has died as well, this game has come to an end. Touching the flag was just symbolic and…another winning condition. It is time for us all to head back."

The half-dragon clapped her hands and the space disappeared from around them.

[Bonus game won. Reward 25,000 coins]

"Tsk, so that did not work…"

Emperor complained, but he did not sound as disappointed as someone would expect him to be. He seemed almost…happy at being an inconvenience to anything related to the system.

"Anyway, congratulations on your victory. I hope you all continue to show such great performance in the future as well. You all will be sent back home in the next 5 minutes, so enjoy your time."

The half-dragon told them before she disappeared to head to another section and another group.

Andrew took this time to look at game 5 rewards.

[Game 5 cleared. Global placement: #2]

[You can choose a reward from the following list]

[10,000 System Gold, 10XMax Grade healing potions(SS), System Shop discount - 20% (one time use)]

"Woah-! These rewards look tempting. But aren't they too unbalanced?"

Lilianna questioned as she looked down at the system. From what Andrew saw, she had a similar selection as he did.

And to an ignorant person, this selection might look unbalanced. But it was actually not unbalanced at all. The shop discount was an actual useful item. And the max healing potions were around 5,000 each.

"Which one should we pick? Andrew, any suggestions?"

Lilianna asked as she looked stuck.

"Choose any of them. It does not really matter in your case…I will be taking the shop discount."

He told the other two and they nodded.

"Then I will take the money. It might come in handy."

Clara selected the money. Lilianna looked around before she picked money as well.

"I will take money as well. If worse comes to pass, I can always buy the potions…and I have my healing as well."

Her logic made sense only because she was a healer. The prices of potions would increase later, but with Lilianna there, Andrew doubted they would need much of it.

"Ah, what did you select, Emperor?"

Clara asked, turning her attention to the other man.

"It is none of your business."

"Tsk, can't you be a little polite when answering? It's not like you will die if you are polite to us…"

Clara complained, only to get ignored by Emperor. The timer finally hit 0 and it was time for them all to be sent back home.

"Hey, come find us if you want to join us. We won't turn you away…"

Lilianna told Emperor right before they were all transported back to the place where they entered the game from.

The mansion looked well-looked after and the fairy worker quickly came around to check on them before heading back and doing her assigned work.

"Ugh, we are finally back? It felt like such a long time…my crops-! I need to check on them. Has someone watered them yet?"

Clara quickly ran toward the back garden as soon as she gained consciousness and both Andrew and Lilianna ran after to check up on the plants as well.

Fortunately, the crops were fine and well-watered. All three of them let out a sigh.

"We need some way to be able to water these places automatically. Do you think we should buy a sprinkling system to install? Ugh, how much would it cost to buy one?"

Clara asked as she carefully tested a few trees to see how they were doing.

"Hmm, I did buy one. Does anyone know how to install it?"

There was silence as the three realized one important thing- they had no technical skill for installation or handiwork.

"Ah, I guess we found what we need to do next- find someone with these skills. I am sure we will be able to find someone soon."

Lilianna, ever the optimistic one, sounded sure. But once they actually got to searching, they realized that the world is too big to do that.
