By the time Karen's eyes fluttered open, she felt her body jerk lightly upon the car seat—taking in the bright glow of the early morning sunrise.
Her eyes squeezed shut, groaning softly as she rubbed the side of her head.
What happened?
Her groggy mind was still foggy before shifting her heavy gaze to the driver's seat. Drogo's concentration was locked on the road.
Taking a moment before pushing forth to sit upright, Karen massaged her forehead. "W- Where are we going?" Was the first thing she asked as she took note of the rocky dirty road they were on.
"Good morning to you too," Drogo's voice came with a hint of enthusiasm.
Karen's heavy eyes blinked, watching him with a deadpan expression.
Taking his eyes off the road for a moment, he flashes a mild smile. "Somewhere safe… That's where we're going."
"What?" Her voice weighed with exhaustion and confusion.
