Chapter 1 - chapter 1

In a certain desolate desert land, there was a boy sleeping, wearing medieval leather clothes and his gloves.

"Ughhh...."

He was asleep, dreaming that he was inside a modern hospital room, hearing voices from various people.

"Useless."

"You can't even get up from your damn bed."

"Leech."

.

.

.

"Wake up.... wake up, you lazy bum!"

"Huh... Is it time now?" the boy asked with blurred vision, wiping his face.

"We will begin the march soon, big boy."

"Alright... Zander," the boy replied to him.

After getting up, the boy looked towards the sun, trying to remember something important.

I don't belong here. I was in another world, on Earth, in a hospital because I had a chronic illness and couldn't get out of my bed. I was a burden on my family. And after years of resisting the illness, I finally died and transferred to a new body in a new medieval world.

Reincarnating in another world? Yes, this might seem like a dream some wish for, but for me? It's hell. This world is in the middle of a war called the Century War, where there is a war between all the kingdoms on this continent.

And aside from the fantasy races present, I'm living in the worst possible situation. Three kingdoms declared war on Hysin for unjustified and stupid reasons, like the death of one of their ambassadors. They blamed them and started the war. The Kingdom of Hysin was a kingdom living in arid land, but it was full of resources, and they managed to build a good kingdom through trade. But all of that changed in the war.

Hysin had no choice but to recruit all the young men for the war, and that's the partial reason I'm here and—

"Watch out, Atlas, don't rush the march. We are not giants like you," Zander spoke.

"Understood," I replied to him.

And now, where were we? Ah yes, my name is Atlas in this world, and I am a giant. It might seem awesome at first, but in reality, it's a living hell. I am a slave to this kingdom. It seems the previous king of this kingdom found me, tamed and trained the owner of this body, and branded him with a slave seal.

What does that mean? It means he owns my soul, and I must obey his orders no matter what they are. His order was to achieve victory for Hysin. That is the real reason for my existence. Because I am a tool for them, a mobile weapon of war.

As I advanced, I saw something in the distance, something white that started getting bigger and bigger as I advanced.

"I see something in the distance," I spoke, squinting my eyes.

"What do you see?" Zander asked while the soldiers were...

"Something white... Wait, I see it clearly now. I think I see the fortress."

"Oh, we're close then! Julius, Atlas has seen it!"

"Yes, I already heard. Soldiers, get ready! We are close!"

Julius rode forward on his horse, followed by the army. After a while, we saw walls, and we reached a fortress. We were still a good distance away. The Hysin army consisted of 3000 soldiers. They wore black armor with a yellow emblem. The shape of the emblem was a large serpent. This was the flag of Hysin. Julius moved from his horse and raised his sword high.

I was standing a little ways away from them, about 30 meters tall. I was standing and looking also at Julius.

"Oi, great Hysin army! We are on the verge of an important step!"

"The Myard army declared war on us, along with the kingdoms of Astiz and the Duchy of Param! We will not remain silent about this!"

"I am Julius Din Dislenro! I swear to you in my name that I will not rest until I achieve justice for our people!"

"Yeeaaaahhhhh!" the soldiers shouted, banging their swords against their shields like drums.

"I will not be silent, and you will not be silent seeing our people killed without doing anything. We will all show the scum of Myard what war is like!"

"Yeeaaaahhhhh!" they shouted enthusiastically, raising their swords back and forth.

"Now, O Giant of Hysin, go forth and show them our wrath!" he shouted, pointing at Atlas.

I moved when he ordered me to. This was what I was born for, for war. And I advanced forward.

As if my footsteps were the sounds of war drums, the Hysin army screamed and ran towards the enemy while they were screaming. But I easily overtook them due to the size difference between me and them. And I got closer and closer to the town fortress.

I saw the archers stationed on the walls. They were scared and terrified of me. They were shaking, and I kept approaching them without stopping. When I got within their firing range, one of them gave the order.

"Fire!"

A volley of arrows flew directly at me like rain. It would have been a nightmare for the soldiers, but for me? Nothing. I didn't feel anything when they hit me. Most of them bounced off my skin, and some got stuck in my shirt. They kept firing at me.

When I got close to them, my shadow fell over them, and they trembled violently. I lowered my body and got into a kicking stance, then kicked the wall with force.

Booom!

The wall, which was nothing but a fence to me, exploded and flew apart, completely shattered. It flew and they fell. A large number of them were soldiers outside the walls when I kicked it. I advanced slowly and looked forward.

And then I was inside the border town of Myard. It was a large town with many wooden houses and brick houses, and in its center was a large castle belonging to the lord of this town. I contemplated for a second before seeing the enemy army had formed and was advancing towards me, while the Hysin army hadn't entered yet.

I looked at them, while they were screaming in fear and raising their weapons towards me. I looked at them for a second before raising my foot high and crushing them like cockroaches.

I crushed between two to three soldiers with every step, and I kept trampling the soldiers. When the Myard army saw this, their morale was almost shattered, and they moved away from me while pointing their weapons in all directions towards me. Their numbers were large and still flowing towards me. Then the Hysin army arrived.

The Hysin army flowed like a crushing tide, killing everything in front of them. Then their spirit broke. When they saw the Hysin army slaughtering them one after another, even climbing the ladders and going towards the walls, slaughtering even the guards to secure the area.

They knew they had lost the battle, but they still resisted even though they were finished.

It was like mice running between the feet of elephants in my view. One wrong step from me and I might accidentally kill one of them. I saw Julius charging on his horse from afar. He was looking at the enemy retreating while their corpses were everywhere where we stood, and he was smiling as he advanced. And then we heard the sound of a war horn coming from afar.

The Hysin army, including me, listened to the sound and knew it wouldn't end this easily. I looked ahead and saw that the castle gate had opened, and there were knights riding horses, approaching us, and behind them was a person wearing heavier armor than the others. They were coming from the main road to the gate where we were. Their number was about a hundred, and the soldiers behind them were also charging.

I knew from this that my work wasn't over yet. I advanced slowly and carefully so as not to trample the soldiers, and some of them moved away as I advanced. When there was a good distance between me and them, and they were screaming while charging to attack,

I grabbed a stone house and lifted it completely and threw it with force towards them. When they saw what I was about to do, they tried to retreat, but it was too late for that.

Booooooom!

The stone house flew a few meters towards the soldiers like a toy towards a target. The house rolled for a few meters, crushing everything in its path, and the house was destroyed in the end. The row behind them was hit, and the cavalry army scattered and completely lost its momentum. I advanced towards them and saw that there were still some of them who had survived and were still okay. But they kept advancing forward without fear. But they were already in a bad position, and Julius took advantage of this.

"Now advance! Don't give them a chance to respond!"

The Hysin army had already taken control and spread into the town. The battle was almost over. The Hysin soldiers were screaming and charging towards the castle. The castle had been breached. My role was completely over here.

I looked up at the sky and exhaled. It was my first day in the war, but it felt like nothing. I felt nothing even after I killed them. Was it because I'm a giant and look down on my former race, or because I've adapted to my new race? Questions without answers.
