Leonard went to take a bath and change his blood stained clothes for clean ones,, and then he went to the room where Olivia was to see if she was okay.
Upon entering the room, Leonard found Olivia eating as if she had been starving for days. Her cheeks were swollen like a squirrel's, full of food. Leonard was surprised that after everything they had been through and seen, she could still have an appetite.
When Olivia saw him enter, she lifted a chicken leg and said, "Do you want some? It's delicious."
Leonard chuckled at Olivia's carefree attitude and replied, "No, I'm not hungry. Finish it yourself."
She shrugged and said, "Hmm... Suit yourself. And continued eating.
Leonard watched her as she ate, wondering how she could eat so much. Even though she was pregnant, he thought it was not normal for her to eat so much. He felt relieved seeing Olivia eat so placidly. When he saw Vanessa's father about to hit Olivia, he had gone crazy.
When she finished, she touched her belly and said, "We are satisfied."
"Are you both okay?" Leonard asked.
"Yes, the doctor checked us a moment ago and said we're fine," Olivia replied.
Leonard caressed Olivia's face and said, "I'm glad nothing bad happened to you or our baby."
"I was so afraid something would happen to our child. Luckily, he is fine and nothing bad happened," Olivia said.
Leonard rested his head on Olivia's shoulder and said, "I also feared something would happen to you both. You and the baby are the most precious things I have. If I were to lose you, I think I would go crazy with pain. I can't imagine a life without you and our baby by my side."
Olivia stroked Leonard's head, burying her fingers in his soft, still slightly damp, black hair, and said, "We didn't experience anything bad because you arrived in time to protect us."
Leonard lifted his head, ran a finger across her lips, and said, "I love you, never leave my side."
Olivia kissed Leonard's lips and upon separating, said, "I can't imagine a life without you and our baby by my side. You have completely taken over my heart."
Leonard kissed her again, softly and sweetly, as if afraid Olivia would break if he kissed her too hard. When they parted their mouths, he lifted her from the chair and carried her to the bed, saying, "Now we need to rest. It has been a really long day."
Olivia settled in Leonard's arms and said, "Yes, so many things happened today. I'm really tired."
Leonard tenderly stroked Olivia's hair until she fell asleep. He watched her sleeping face and kissed her forehead, saying, "Thank you for coming into my life, my little troublemaker."
He fell asleep, holding Olivia in his arms.
The next morning, Olivia woke up because she was cold and cuddled even closer to Leonard. Seeing that see was cold, he covered her with a blanket and asked, "Is that better?"
Olivia hugged him and replied, "Yes, now I'm not cold anymore."
"Are you feeling okay? Do you have any pain?" Leonard asked."
"Yes, I'm fine. My legs hurt a little from running so much yesterday, but I'm not used to it," Olivia replied.
"Do you want me to call the doctor?" Leonard asked.
"No, that won't be necessary. I just need to rest," Olivia said.
Leonard sat on the bed, took one of Olivia's legs, and began gently massaging it, asking, "Does it feel good?"
Olivia was surprised to see Leonard massaging her leg, but the massage felt really good beacuse he was using just the right amount of force, so she replied, "Yes, it feels good."
After massaging one leg, he moved to the other and then to her shoulders. Olivia felt her whole body relax. and when he finished the massage, she said, "My husband's hands are incredible. I want you to do this more often."
Leonard laughed and said to her. "so you like it when I explore your body with my hands."
"That's not what I meant, although I can't deny that I also enjoy that," she replied.
Leonard kissed Olivia and said, "We can stay in bed and play all day."
"I'm pregnant, we can't do that," she said.
Leonard kissed Olivia passionately and said, "I guess we'll have to settle for kisses then."
"Please try to abstain from that too," she requested.
"Why? There shouldn't be any issue with kisses, right?" he asked.
"Passionate kisses are forbidden, we can only give each other normal kisses," she explained.
"That's not fair," he complained.
"It's either that or nothing, you decide," she responded.
Leonard kissed her forehead and said, Alright, it'll be as you say."
Olivia's stomach began to growl and Leonard said to her, "It seems we can't stay in bed any longer."
He got up and said, "I'll call someone to bring you breakfast."
"Alright," she agreed.
Leonard briefly left and told one of the maids to bring breakfast to Olivia, then he returned to the room because after what had happened, he didn't want to leave her alone for even a moment.
When Leonard returned to the room. Olivia had already gotten up and was looking out the window. Leonard approached her from behind and wrapped his arms around her and said.
"What are you thinking?"
"There's something I would like to ask you," Olivia said.
Leonard was very surprised that Olivia was asking him for something, so he said.
"It's rare for you to ask me for something, so whatever you ask for, I'll give it to you."
Olivia turned around to face him and said.
"Actually, what I want to ask you is not for me but for someone else."
"What is it?"
"During our wedding, I met the niece of the Marquis Norfolk. Yesterday, I heard that she was getting married."
"Do you want to give her a wedding gift?"
"No, actually I want you to help me stop her wedding."
"I thought you liked the Marquis Norfolk's niece. Why do you want to stop her wedding?"
"I like her and that's why I don't want her to marry the man her uncle has chosen. I heard that the Marquis intends to marry her off to an old, ugly widower."
"Olivia, I can't prevent the Marquis from marrying off his niece just because you don't like the chosen partner."
Olivia looked at him with a pout and said.
"You said you would give me anything I asked for."
"I know, but that's not something I can prevent. The Marquis Norfolk is her guardian, and he can choose whoever he wants for her to marry."
"But it's not fair. She's just a child, and if she marries that man, she won't be happy."
Leonard caressed Olivia's face and said, "I know it may not be fair for her, but even if I prevent the Marquis from marrying her off to the man he has chosen now, he will most likely choose another man after I return to my territory."
Olivia knew that what Leonard was saying was true, and it hurt her deeply in her heart because she identified with Daphne and didn't want her to be forced into marriage. In the end, Olivia had been lucky with her own marriage because Leonard was a wonderful man, and she loved him now. But when she had been forced into marriage, she felt anger at not being able to choose whom to marry. She held onto Leonard's shirt, and seeing Olivia's expression so sad, he said.
"Don't be like that. I'll do everything I can to help her."
"Do you mean it?"
Leonard kissed her forehead and said, "I mean it. Don't worry anymore about that girl. I'll make sure to prevent her wedding and that her uncle never forces her to marry any other man she doesn't love."
Olivia felt happy hearing that Leonard was going to help Daphne, and she kissed him on the lips and said.
"Thank you, you're the best. I love you."
Leonard had told Olivia he was going to help the niece of the Marquis Norfolk, but he had no idea how he was going to do it. But seeing Olivia so sad, he couldn't help but want to please her.
Several maids entered the room because Leonard had forgotten to close it, and seeing them embracing they said nervously.
"We're sorry for interrupting. We will come back later."
Olivia pushed Leonard away and told them.
"There's no need to come back later. Bring the food, I'm starving."
The maids served breakfast, fearing that the Duke would be angry with them and that he would want to kill them for interrupting. Several of the servants had been how Leonard had killed Vanessa without any hesitation, so the servants approached the Ducal couple with fear of losing their lives if they made a mistake. After they had served everything, they asked Olivia if she needed anything else, and she told them she just needed a new dress since her clothes were ruined.
The maids thought that was the perfect excuse to leave the room and leave them alone, and they said they would go and get a dress for her.
As the maids left the room, they almost ran away because they didn't want to be near Leonard.
When the maids left, Olivia began devouring everything they had brought her. Leonard accompanied her to breakfast, although it was mostly Olivia who had eaten almost evreything.
Later, a maid arrived with the dress Olivia had requested for herself and helped her change. Then they both got into the carriage. When they entered, they found Vandal lying on one of the seats. The coachman hurriedly told them that the puppy had gotten inside the carriage and despite his attempts, he couldn't get him out. Olivia told him it didn't matter since Vandal was her pet. So, the coachman got into the carriage, set it in motion, and they returned to Leonard's parents' house.
Most of the noble guests who had attended the hunting event had left the night before, including Leonard's parents. The only ones left in the mansion were them and the servants responsible for taking care of it.
Leonard had insisted that Olivia stay and rest for another day, but she didn't feel comfortable in that place after what had happened. Therefore, she preferred to return to Leonard's parents' house as soon as possible.
Upon arriving at the mansion, Leonard's mother came out to greet them. She took Olivia by the hand and guided her to the living room so she could sit and rest. The maids had prepared tea with milk and cookies for her.
Leonard was surprised to see that despite everything Olivia had eaten just a couple of hours ago, she still had an appetite to keep eating.
He decided to leave them alone for a while and went to look for his father to see if he could give him any ideas on how to fulfill what he had promised to Olivia.
