Oh.
Ezra's eyes widened at Kaelis' words.
He wasn't speaking with his usual confidence. Instead, his head stayed lowered, almost as if he was afraid of what Ezra's answer would be.
His voice was quiet.
Hopeful.
He wasn't joking.
"That's…" Ezra starts, not wanting to leave the silence hanging between them.
'That's…actually convenient.'
The thought alone filled him with guilt.
He had been carrying the weight of hiding the truth from both Kaelis and Lior for years, and as selfish as it sounded, this solved every problem he had been desperately avoiding.
Ezra knew Lior deserved his papa.
And now, Ezra knew Kaelis deserved to have a place in Lior's life.
But he had been too much of a coward to tell either of them the truth.
Even now, with another baby on the way, one who would actually be Lior's full sibling instead of only half.
Sure.
Lior would never know that his "real" papa had been kept from him all this time.
