Ezra and Kaelis moved almost perfectly in sync as they followed the direction of Aurien's voice, their footsteps quieter now as instinct immediately took over.
The closer they got, the clearer Aurien sounded.
And he sounded panicked.
Not nervous.
Not anxious.
Panicked.
'This isn't looking good for Aurien,' Ezra thought with a small frown forming on his face.
Besides Kaelis, Ezra could never fully form a single opinion on Aurien.
For one, Aurien used to be a coward, or at least that was how everyone saw him, and before, Ezra had thought the same. Back then, it annoyed him, especially compared to Helios and Kaeli,s who carried themselves like actual princes of war.
But now?
Now it didn't seem like such a big flaw anymore.
And during the training a week ago, Aurien had shown a massive change.
He was still kind. Still soft-spoken. Still, the sweet prince everyone adored.
But beneath that sweetness, Ezra saw confidence now.
Danger too.
People feared Aurien more lately.
