The Everlight party continue their journey after the incident that happened a few days ago. No one was charge for anything since there is no evidence that either parties did anything to get themselves trapped in there. After a long walk, they had finally arrived at the first city after the volcanic mountains belt. It was quite far from it but also the nearest city to it.
The city was your typical city you see in every kingdom, though this city was famous for its sweets shop, more overly, their chocolate. With their cocoa plantation near the city, their chocolate has rich dark color and a texture different from other chocolate. It's rich in bitterness, giving the consumer a sharp bitterness when reaches the tongue.
Before visiting the sweets shop, the Everlight party decided to drop by at the guild to update their status and accept some quest at the meantime.
"Alright, here's a guild card for Mr Auoun, right now you are D rank to match the Everlight party,"
Auoun receives his guild card for the first time and takes a look at it.
"So this card is important for becoming an adventurer?"
"Yes, with this, you could pick up quest from guilds and even climb higher ranks for tougher quests, you could also earn cash with it,"
"I see…"
"Let's go pick up a quest to do with while we spent our time in this city,"
Raye suggested to the members and they went to the billboard to choose a quest suitable for them. They ended up picking a quest about annihilating a horde of orcs with the orc king. On the paper it is written that the orcs would terrorise the city time to time but due to the orc king, no one dared to pick up this quest. Though it wouldn't be much of a challenge for the Everlight party, for they once taken down a horde of goblins and their settlement before.
Right when they exit, they were instantly met with the sweets shop with a huge crowd lining up for it. It seems that even the residents of this city could not resist their own local chocolate.
"Look at that shop, I heard it's famous for its local chocolate, let's go line up before it sold out Raye!"
Amethia pointed and begged Raye to come with her. Looking at the situation of the sweets shop and Amethia's gaze, he has no choice but to go with her.
"Sorry guys but you guys will have to go on your own,"
"It's fine, we got this,"
Al lit up his cigar and smoke after he replied Raye.
"Well then let's go,"
Auoun raises his dual hammers and marches towards the woods. Will and Al then followed up, leaving the hero and the elf behind as they went their way to purchase the chocolates.
"So what are orcs like?"
Auoun asked Will and Al in which they reply earnestly.
"They are somewhat similar to goblins, though they are much uglier and have sharp teeth that pop out from their mouth of their lower jaw,"
"What's a goblin?"
Al don't know how to explain to Auoun so Will take in and explain it to him.
"Goblin are green beings with long ears and nose, they are usually bald and they have daggers as their weapon, sort of like a small sword,"
Auoun listened with all ears as Will explained about dragons and other common beasts you will find during the journey. After a while, they had finally reached the orcs settlement. Similar to the goblin settlement Will and Raye faced before, there is a wooden watchtower and a few straw houses around. There were few orcs patrolling and guarding their settlement. All of them were holding a club, ready to beat up anyone that trespass their territory.
"So how are we gonna get through them?"
"We could attack from above,"
Will suggested to Al but before they could finish, Auoun dashes straight forward and leap up in the air continued with a swing of his hammers onto the ground, creating a huge explosion. The orcs notices and ran towards Auoun but got caught in the explosion, sending them away.
"Or we could initiate a battle that way,"
Will dashed into the settlement and as for Al, he just hid inside a bush. More and more orcs ran towards the dwarf but he just swings his hammers and around, smashing them and sending them far away. Some of them were sent onto trees. Will flew up in the air and fire flames arrows at the orcs, killing them in a single blow. One of the orcs ran back into the watchtower and for a while, it returned with a smirk. Loud thud shook the ground as the orc king exited from the watchtower. It is brown unlike the other orcs who were in dark green. It wear rag clothing and has thick black eyebrows. It let out a loud roar before jumping onto the ground with his giant club smash onto it. Auoun raises his dual hammers, then dashes towards the orc king.
The orc king block the blow with his club and swings it right onto Auoun. Auoun manages to block the blow with his hammers but the pressure of the club pushes him down into the ground. The orc king raises his club and was about to swing it onto Auoun but Will shot a fire arrow before the club swings onto the dwarf, flinching it.
Auoun got up from the ground, swings his right hammer at the orc king's fat belly though it just bounces and absorb the attack.
"What?"
Auoun then swings his left hammer onto the ground, making the orc king fall back and giving him the chance to draw a distance away from it. Will fires more flame arrows at the orc king, forcing it to retreat backwards. Auoun dashed towards the orc king, swinging his hammers on it, though the orc king somehow parried the attack with his club but at the same time it broke in half.
The orc king was so shock that it was stunned for a moment. Seizing the chance. Auoun uses his strength and swings his right hammer with his full might at the orc king, sending it onto the watch tower, making it collapse on the orc king and killing it, ending the battle.
Al walk towards Will and Auoun and make sure the orc king is dead. After that, they look around the houses and the collapsed watch tower, reclaiming the loots that were once belong to the residents of the city.
When they returned back into the city, they coincidentally met Raye and Amethia holding a bag full of treats.
"You guys are back! We manage to get the chocolate before they sold out, here, have some,"
Amethia reaches out the bag to Will and Al, then lowering it at Auoun. Auoun reaches his hand into the bag and grabbed a piece of chocolate, then putting it into his mouth and chewing it.
"What's this taste? I never felt it before, it is weird for my tongue but also quite good in a sense…"
"That's chocolate you're having, and that taste is bitter,"
"Bitter?"
"It's a taste, same with sweet, sour, spicy…"
"What are those?"
"Soon you'll know,"
The Everlight party then went to claimed their reward for completing the quest and Auoun was shocked of what they received.
"Are these coins?"
"Yes, they are the currency of this world, though to be more precise this coins are the currency of Ferria,"
Raye then explained everything to Auoun. The dwarf had learnt a lot of things just that day...
