Dusk had arrived, the Everlight decided to rest inside an area surrounded by trees. the fire glow brightly in this dark forest. There were no critters around which made it safe for them to rest for the night. Amethia helped comb Will's long hair after he washed it near a small stream. They fired a few fishes for dinner before going to bed.
After their meal, Raye called Al and make a request to him where Will and Amethia were sleeping.
"Al, I need your help on one thing,"
Al lit up his cigarette and smoke, then letting out the smoke in his mouth.
"What is it?"
"I need you, to teach me light magic,"
"Huh?"
"I need you to teach me light magic,"
"No no I heard you, but why?"
"I believe that we will face attacks from the SUN Cult more often in the near future, it's best to be prepared then to walk into a battle with no advantages, we know how powerful is Enceladus, we only won was because of his arrogance and luck,"
"I guess you're right, though wouldn't Amethia teaching you purification magic be a better choice?"
"Sure but the elves aren't fond of human, who knows about their goddess would be fond of us using their magic?"
"...,alright fine, it would be better if we were up against the SUN Cult,"
Suddenly, they heard sound on the pathway to the next town. Raye and Al hid behind the bushes to see what is going on. It was a large group of people wearing violet cloak holding candles that lit up the dark path. They are walking from the opposite direction from the towns to the bridge. They seem to be uneasy and worried. Raye took a closer look and realized that they are part of the SUN Cult, moreover under the division of the recently deceased warlock, Rion.
"It would make sense if they retreated so far back, they lost their master and are now loss sheep, but these loss sheep are not to be underestimated," thought Raye as he deduct everything.
"Looking at them all uneasy, they must have tried to pass the bridge but failed to do so and attack the great eagle, being able to leave such damage on the great eagle is no joke,"
"Should we do something about it?"
Al whispered to Raye. Raye not wanting to wake up Will and Amethia, decided to watch them for a while.
"We'll wait and see,"
"What shall we do sir?"
One of the cultist asked what seems to be the head of their group.
"We'll attack that great eagle again, we had weaken it yesterday so we would be able to defeat it this time,"
Upon hearing this, Raye placed his right hand on his sword. Al seeing this placed his hand on Raye's shoulder, telling him not to act rashly.
"Not now, let's keep watching,"
The SUN Cult were about to walk to the bridge but stop midway.
"Come out, I know you're there"
The leader spoke, looking at the bushes where Raye and Al hid.
"..., not coming out?"
A cultist walk towards the bush but then got his legs slashed. The cultist drop onto the ground as Raye and Al stood up. Upon taking a closer look, the leader seems to know who they were but remain calm.
"...,you must be the hero that took down Lord Enceladus Lauren,"
"And you guys must be under the division of the dead warlock Rion,"
"...,impressive, Hero Raye Winston, and I supposed the one behind you is the priest Al Sevis, the one who also fought with you during your battle against Lord Enceladus,"
Al gripped his mini staff tightly, ready for what is about to happen next.
"We don't want any business with you, we shall take our leave,"
"You will not be leaving, SUN Cultist,"
The leader turned his head, eyes locked with Raye's. It was unsettling but Raye still put up the courage and raised his sword, pointing at them.
"I hope you know that you shouldn't make foes with the SUN Cult,"
"We already did,"
"...suit yourself,"
The SUN Cultist attacked first, casting black magic on them.
"Demonic hellfire,"
A purple and red flame aimed at Raye. He dodged to the right and did Air Slash on the flame, making it disperse. Raye then dashed to the one who casted that spell and slashed him. He then move in agile speed, slashing each SUN Cultist one by one, leaving the leader the only one alive.
"You don't plan on letting me live do you?"
The leader asked Raye, making him hesitate. Seizing the chance, he grabbed Raye on the face and smashed him onto one of the tree. Al watches in terror but casted a thunder spell on the leader.
"El Thundros, Blitz!"
The leader interrupted the spell, making it fail. He then move so fast as if he teleported in front of Al and kicked him on the stomach, making him also smashed onto a tree. Suddenly, the leader's right arm was sliced off by Raye. His face was a bit corrupted like the great eagle earlier this morning. The leader held onto his right shoulder, retreating. Knowing that he was no match for the Everlight party, he tried to escape but Raye using his agile speed pierced him on the front, slashing down, killing the leader of that group.
He then fell down onto the ground, letting go of his sword, his hands covered his face in pain. Al quickly rushed over and healed him. Fortunately the corruption was still early, so Al was able to completely remove it using light magic. They returned back to their camp spot and found Will and Amethia still fast asleep. Raye sighed in relief and noticed Amethia mumbling. Raye suddenly got the epiphany to feed her leftover bread sticks. He took out the pouch where they stored the bread sticks and put it near her mouth. She started eating it slowly. The reaction made Raye giggled.
"What are you doing?"
Al asked Raye as he feed Amethia more.
"Nothing, just for fun,"
Al sighed and slapped Raye on the head, asking him to stop.
