The beasts started dashing towards Aether one after another. Aether casted a fire spell that covered the whole area. The beasts ran inside the flame knowing that magic does not work on them. But this was all a distraction caused by Aether to fool the beast. Aether then casted a sword made out of ice and tried to slash one of the beast's leg. It failed since the sword was made out of mana and the beasts are mana resistant.
"I see...well then,"
Aether casted another sword made out of ice and ran and leaped towards one of the beast at the back.
Aether then casted a magic that nullified everything in a 10 meter radius and slashed the beast at the back in half which it worked this time. He then dashed towards every beasts on the front, killing them as blood splattered all over the ground. Aether released the ice sword from his hand as it disintegrate and float up in the air.
Aether Lupen's Nullification magic works as a perspective based magic. It works on how the user view 'normal' or 'regular' towards their opponent. For an example, a man with superhuman strength got nullified and will turn into 'normal' human as same as the other, no buff within it. Nullifying magic overpowers every type of magic, resistant, protection, blessing and so on as shown on Aether nullifying the beasts resistance towards mana. Despite this, Aether can't nullify the fundamental law of the universe as in time itself and others. But mostly Aether's nullification magic is a perspective based and it all depends on him on how things would be nullified.
More and more beasts descended from a dark and purple portal and flew towards the direction of the shelter. Raye kept using 'EXCALIBUR' against the beasts which draws the attention of the Perfect Mage.
"You're gonna run out of mana energy if you're gonna keep using that technique,"
Raye took that advice and parried the next few attack.
"Come on Raye! Aren't you a knight in the royal palace? You should know how to fight, don't spam your big move, that way you will run out of mana and the beasts might adapt to the attack,"
Raye leaped backward and took a deep breath in. He repositioned himself and raised his sword, having both hand holding the sword tightly with the tip of the blade near chest level.
"The beast is mana resistant as I said, so imbuing your mana into your attack does no damage and it would just waste your energy!"
Aether told Raye as he defended him from the beast that tried to disturb his stance. Will couldn't do anything since the beasts are mana resistant and if he tried using shadow magic and his devouring ability that would reveal his identity and cause further conflict.
"Let's go,"
"Oh uh alright…"
Will pulled Al's clothes softly to signal him and he led him to somewhere else.
Raye closed his eyelid and raised his sword to head level and remembered what has he learned during his training as a knight. Back then, knight were trained to not use mana on their sword during early swordsmanship. Hero or swordsman usually imbue mana into their weapon to enhanced their attack strength and their endurance. But this was forbidden by knight during early training session to teach you how to fight even if you are out of mana.
Raye slashed down his sword as a beast dove towards Raye and raised his right arm to grab him. The beast's arm got a slash but it wasn't much of a damage to him. As he was about to smack Raye, he got sliced in half by the Perfect Mage with his ice sword.
"That's it Raye! You're doing great!"
Upon hearing Aether's word, this made Raye have a big grin on his face as he started having the flow of slicing beast without using mana. Slowly, Raye's attack started dealing much more damage and finally, he managed to slice a beast in half.
"Congrats, you got the hang of it, now then, I will leave this beast to you while I need to do some research,"
Aether flew up high in the air and looked down from below. He took a glance and saw every city in the Kingdom of Sahhara are being attacked by the beasts.
"The dungeon sure is making their level harder after being conquered,…this might be a hassle,"
Suddenly, a sudden attack from above hit Aether and sent him down onto the ground. Aether stood up without a scratch and casted another ice sword and pointed it at the beast that hit him. That beast descended from above. This beast differs from the other beasts. This one is larger in species and their horn are bloody red and larger. It has a mouth unlike the others with sharp teeth that could probably destroy a building by chomping it.
"So you're supposed to be the leader of the pack, not that it mattered anyway, to me, you whole lots are the same,"
Aether closed his eyes. The surrounding of Aether went dark.
"Nullification Magic,"
Aether thought of this words in his mind. Then, he opened his eyes and sliced the beast into many cube size.
"Too bad, but no matter your rank is, you're just the same as the others in my eyes,"
Aether let go of the ice sword as it disintegrate and he turned his back and looked up in the sky.
"Well then, what should we do about this situation…"
