As time passed by, not only did he fail to free his avatars, but his attempts also induced Entropy within him. When he sensed the rising Entropy, he realized that his attempts were not free to make.
Even when the attempts ended in failure, he still had to pay the price. His only reward for his effort was that after trying to get his avatars to move more times, he came to realize that he had two options.
The first option was to give up now and hope for the best. The second was to keep trying to free his avatars in hopes that the dragon would run out of lifespan or reach its limit of Entropy first.
He didn't need to think things through at all to know that the second option was the only one with any reliable chance of saving his avatars. So even though the chances of this working were low, he tried it without hesitation.
