When people fight, it should be expected that one of them would die. So when Dao Lords fight, it should be expected that one of them would die.
As divine beings, they were very familiar with this logic. Even so, they were stupefied when they realized that the Killing Pathway was gone.
They couldn't believe that something like this would happen because it rarely happened. The last time something like this happened was about 2,000 years ago when the light of the Forging Pathway dimmed in the Myriad Phenomenon Sect.
