The Past Self Metac was also able to prevent the Seal Ability and the Siphon Ability from taking effect on Time Traveler. But Time Traveler didn't have anything to deal with the black force field.
The black force field was devouring everything it touched. Even the power of time wasn't safe from it. Anytime Time Traveler used the Past Self Metac to restore his state, the black force field would resume consuming his existence as if nothing had happened.
The power of time could only slow down the black force field. This was partly because of the nature of the Devouring Ability, but it was mostly because Loki's power was far too great compared to Time Traveler's power.
The gap in their power was only growing wider as his Cave Heaven crumbled and disappeared under the ministration of the black force field. So he was slowly and surely losing ground.
