When everyone got in, Greg, who was standing at the control deck at the front of the cabin, released the anchor holding down the airship to the ground and let the airship take off. Then he unfurled the sails and let them use the wind to push the airship forward.
He did all of these without looking at them or telling them what to do. He was behaving as if they were not present at all.
Without his guidance, they could only stand around in the cabin looking at each other. This created a silent atmosphere that was suffocating. For some reason, they began to find it difficult to breathe and began hoping that Greg would speak again.
The airship moved at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Their destination was only 750 kilometers away, so it would take them less than 8 hours to get there.
