Appearing in the middle of town square was not what Alice was suspecting when she pressed the button to confirm her class. Alas, her ears were now filled with the incessant chatter of hundreds of people talking, walking and being noisy in general.
"It's just a game... its just a game!" She whispered to herself as she shifted through the crowd towards a much less crowded side street.
Finally being able to catch her breath, she took in the surroundings. A medieval styled city with roads made of stone and houses made of wood. Despite this area not having many people, it still felt more alive than any other game she had played before. Clothing lines hung between buildings, banners advertising different guilds, a tavern filled with guests, the clanking of a hammer against hot iron... Everything about it felt real.
Now alone, she was able to check her stats.

"Darkness orb..." She quickly navigated to the skills panel
----Darkness Orb----
F-Tier Dark attribute miracle
Conjure a ball of swirling darkness that tears objects apart with sheer force
--------------------------------
"Heh... Mwhehehehe!" She laughed, striking a pose in the middle of the thankfully deserted street.
"O' Darkness, head my call and shred through the sinners before me! Darkness Orb!" She changed before thrusting her hands out towards a chicken who was ignorant to his fate.
The light in her palm bent and swirled before turning a purplish-black, lacerating the air around it.
"RELEASE!" She cocked her head back as the orb dashed out of her palm at a staggering, mind shattering, 2 kilometers per hour.
The violent orb crashed into the poor chicken, who... Who deflected it with its wing???
"N-Nani!"
"Bawk."
The purple ball of energy then harmlessly collided with the floor, creating a slight tear on one of the weeds in the brick road.
"..."
The chicken then walked away.
Suddenly, from behind laughter rang out
"Pwhahaha!"
Turning around, an old man wriggled on the ground. His body contorted with laughter as he rolled side to side.
"I-I- Someone help! This man is having a stroke!"
------------------------
"Y-You're supposed to be a dark priest!" The man said, attempting to contain his laughter as Alice's bright red face somehow became even more red.
"Tell me, kid. What's your name?"
"Alic-Alissa." She almost said her real name before quickly correcting herself.
"Well then, miss Alic-alissa. It was a pleasure meeting you. When you go down to the church, take this. It'll let you skip the line." He chuckled before handing Alice a card with a strange symbol on it. A pentagram that was being coiled by three snakes
"Hup!" Despite his appearance, the old man easily jumped to his feet from the ground before waddling off into an alleyway.
"... I wish I was in bed"
Now with her face returned to a normal colour, she navigated through the backstreets.
Postal Port. A small port city that grew from a small checkpoint for international mail.
"Welcome to Postal Port adventurer! Postal Port is a small port city that grew from a small checkpoint for international mail!"
'This is the seventh one in the past hour. They. Will. Not. Leave. Me. Alone!' She shouted in her head. A man dressed in a sailors uniform shoved a pamphlet into her arms, stacking up on the pile of 6.
The first one to come up to her had actually been helpful, the pamphlet contained information about the history of the city and a small cartoon map. But then-
"You look a bit lost. Y'know, I could show you around. For a minor fee of course!"
The residents of this game world somehow knew of the players arrival in advance, and had set up a large festival in each of the starter towns that players would be spawning within. And with people who are clueless and or confused are easy targets for scams.
'I only turned down the first one because I didn't want to have to speak with someone for the length of a tour, but then I saw a player crying in their underwear in an alleyway that I learned the truth' She sighed
"I know this place like the back of my hand! I've been living here my whole life, I bet I could introduce you to someone who knows the location of a new dungeon that opened up recently!"
"... Shut up!" She shouted, first colliding with the sailors jaw.
"Huff..! You guys have been doing nothing but pestering me all day!" She growled at the sailors unconscious body... Before coming to her senses.
The crowd around her had gone silent, and a man in a suit of armor stood feet away.
"Mam I'm going to have to ask you to-"
"S-sorry!" With a puff of smoke she had disappeared into a back alley.
"Wait! Get back here!" The man in the armor chased her.
'I'm done for! In less than a day I've already become a criminal!' She sobbed while sprinting down the alleyway surprisingly fast, knocking over trash cans and accidentally stepping on the tails of stray animals. Causing the guards pursuit to become much more difficult.
This chase scene would go well with a song from a certain distracting mobile game about running on train cars.
She drifted around a corner into a dead end.
"W-Wait you're not in trouble! I just wanted to ask you about those scam-" Out of breath, he attempted to speak to the girl. Now being cornered, she interrupted him with a shriek before scrambling up a stack of crates and jumping over the guard.
"How are you doing this???" The stack of crates she jumped from fell atop the guard, rotten fish spilling out covering the guard with all sorts of yucky juices and fish parts.
"Eaugh!" He let out a disgusted, pained groan as he slowly got back up to his feet.
"Damn, lost her... What's that sound?" He turned to see a very hungry cat growling at him.
"H-Hi kitty..!" The cat pounced, digging teeth into flesh!
"AAAAAGGHHHH!!!! IT SORTA HURTS!!!!!!"
"Huff.. Huff..!" As Alice came to a stop she breathed hard. With her hands on her knees bracing herself from collapsing, she took in the scenery.
She had managed to reach a hill overlooking the city. Postal Port was situated in a Valley between two large hills... Or two very small mountains, she couldn't quite tell? Anyways, the city was located in a valley, with parts of it extending on top of the hill-mountains where she stood. From here she saw the city in all of its glory.
A prominent color was blue. Blue banners, decorations, balloons, etc. There were even hot air balloons striped blue and white.
"I almost forgot that this was a game..."
