The carriage came to a halt; the sound of the wheels grinding against the paved stone road creaked and then completely died away.
Alex opened his eyes, his gaze clear yet profound. He lowered his voice and said to Glen: "The dance troupe's female lead dancer has disappeared."
Glen paused for a moment, his hand resting on the door handle stiffening slightly before opening the carriage door.
"So they are looking for this lady?"
"It's just a guess that she left." Alex stepped down from the carriage, adjusting the slightly wrinkled hem of his coat as the night wind carrying a bit of chill blew against his face: "Perhaps she has already left this place."
"Then should we go back?" Alex brushed past Glen, hearing Glen ask this, the man's voice carrying a hint of teasing.
Alex raised his head to look at Glen: "Can the tickets be refunded?"
Glen looked at the surrounding crowd, the elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen lining up to enter the doors: "Obviously not."
