The towering brick chimney, unable to withstand the pressure, collapsed with a deafening roar, dragging the black, fish-scaled liquid creatures clinging to it down to the ground like a heavy downpour.
The anomaly occurred so suddenly and violently that not to mention the four bewildered members of the Beyonder squad, even these creatures of the Other Shore had no idea what had just happened. They shrieked with ear-piercing, panic-stricken cries.
