Alex turned his head to look back.
His bedroom had completely transformed. The bed he had just laid on had become a bizarre boulder covered in green moss and slimy liquid. A liquid-like creature covered in scales was coiling right next to that boulder. Its body heaved rhythmically as if breathing.
It had no eyes, but Alex knew for sure that all of this creature's attention and malice were aimed directly at him.
Although this event happened so abruptly and bizarrely that it was incomprehensible, with both space and time seemingly distorted, Alex, with his years of survival experience, quickly reacted. Taking advantage of the moment before the creature's ear-piercing sound, like metal scratching against glass, rang out, he quickly lowered his head, avoiding direct eye contact with it.
