A full hour passed amidst the rustling sound of flipping paper. He finished reviewing the logs of two large companies, and his eyes began to tire. Hughes did not have a spirit to help him, nor was he used to such meticulous work, so his speed was a bit slower, and he sighed continuously.
"The matching number is fewer than I thought." Alex looked at the filtered and cross-checked list. These two rental companies had quite a few customers from the morning of the 11th to the evening of the 14th, but those matching the conditions of staying overnight and traveling on deserted roads were indeed not many.
"Because long-distance travel mostly doesn't require renting this type of carriage." Hughes rubbed his eyes and explained, "This type of carriage rental is suitable for moving within the city or nearby suburbs, at most going to a neighboring town to visit relatives. If the distance is any further, it's better to take a steam train, which is faster and cheaper."
