Alex stood still, not moving an inch, his expression indifferent as if he hadn't heard anything.
"Are you deaf?" Mick roared, about to rush forward.
Wood stepped sideways, using his tall figure to block Mick's view of Alex, forming an invisible protective wall.
"The deaf one is you, Superintendent."
He lowered his voice, the tone icy but full of authority, his deep blue eyes narrowing dangerously: "No matter how brainless you are, you should be able to see that I know this young man. Furthermore, he is very extraordinary; his current identity is not something a petty Superintendent can casually offend. Shouldn't you be a bit more sensible?"
He shoved the strap of the body bag forcefully into Mick's hand, the force so strong it compelled Mick to take it. "The affairs of the Patrol Police Department are not directly related to the Church, and I don't want to be a busybody, but today your arrogant attitude truly makes me very uncomfortable."
