The reason Black Cats were always considered evil creatures and had to be tied to the stake and burned to death upon discovery was not without reason. Legend has it that Black Cats originally came from the Demon Realm, bringing the disasters of the Demon Realm to the human world. Wherever a Black Cat set foot, natural and man-made disasters would inevitably occur.
Of course, things like the Demon Realm had disappeared even earlier than magic. Currently, even if one turned the whole world upside down, no passage leading to the Demon Realm could be found anymore. After all, maintaining the existence of a passage required consuming a massive amount of magical power.
Five hundred years, to short-lived humans, was already a matter from a very, very long time ago. But to some races, five hundred years was too short; there were always some relics belonging to the age of magic that hadn't completely disappeared yet.
