The Pope quietly looked at Nigel for a moment, as if wanting to confirm whether the other party was lying or not. After a long while, the Pope suddenly stood up, turned to the bookshelf behind him, and took down a small, exquisitely crafted oak box.
"Do you know what is inside this box?" the Pope asked as he placed the oak box in front of Nigel.
His questions today seemed to be particularly numerous.
"I don't know." Nigel shook his head again.
"Open it and see."
Nigel did not hesitate either. He obediently opened the oak box, and upon clearly seeing the item contained inside, he revealed a distinct expression of surprise. "Your Holiness, is this..."
The Pope nodded affirmatively. "Just as you guessed, this is a magic stone."
The box made of oak was not large; inside lay only a single green gemstone the size of a palm. With just a passing glance, Nigel's gaze was firmly captivated by the sparkling green light flowing within the stone.
