As Ningyan woke with a slow stretch, it took him exactly one second to realize he was still in Rong Yue's chamber.
That wasn't the only thing.
Rong Yue was awake.
He lay facing Ningyan, watching him with calm blue feline eyes. His golden-striped tiger ears twitched lazily, his tail swaying in an unhurried rhythm. He was far too close, golden hair catching the morning light, solid, defined chest fully on display.
Ningyan startled and immediately shuffled backward.
"Pleasant morning, isn't it?" Rong Yue asked mildly as Ningyan pushed himself upright, rubbing at his forehead.
"Yes. I— I guess." Heat flooded Ningyan's face as memories from the previous night surfaced. "I, um… Wuhen and I—"
Rong Yue smiled, clearly amused by the color blooming across Ningyan's cheeks.
"There's nothing to be ashamed of. We all have desires. Besides," he added lightly, "it was a nice sight."
Ningyan blinked, then flopped back onto the bed and turned to study him more carefully.
