Chapter 1 - Chapter One: Sparks in the Dark

The music throbbed like a heartbeat, vibrating through the crowded apartment. Aisha pressed herself against the wall, clutching her drink, trying to pretend she belonged. Parties like this weren't her usual scene, but tonight, curiosity had won.

Then she saw her.

Raven leaned against the balcony railing, leather jacket glinting under the neon lights. The other partygoers gave her a wide berth, sensing danger, or maybe just respecting it. But Aisha couldn't look away. Every movement, every tilt of her head, was deliberate. Predatory. Magnetic.

Their eyes met. And just like that, the room shrank.

Raven smiled a slow, knowing curve of her lips that made Aisha's stomach knot in ways she didn't understand. She felt heat crawl up her neck, pulse quicken, every nerve alive.

"You're new here," Raven said, stepping closer. Her voice was low, husky, carrying the kind of danger that made Aisha's chest ache.

"I - I - I'm just visiting," Aisha managed, her words trembling.

Raven's laugh was soft, teasing, brushing against the edge of something darker. "You don't look like you belong… but I like it."

Aisha's heart skipped. She wanted to look away, but couldn't. Raven's presence was too intense, too tempting. The air between them seemed to hum, charged, electric.

Raven reached out, a finger lightly brushing a strand of Aisha's hair behind her ear. The touch was fleeting, but it left a trail of fire that licked up her spine.

"You're not afraid?" Raven asked.

Aisha swallowed hard. "Of… you?"

"Of me," Raven said, stepping even closer, so close that their breaths mingled. "You should be. But I like that you're not."

And then

The lights flickered, music crashing into a sudden silence, and a shadow from outside made Raven's eyes harden. She grabbed Aisha's hand, pulling her closer. "We'll finish this later," she whispered, voice low, heavy with promise.

Aisha's world spun. Every sense screamed, every nerve wanted more. And just like that, Raven was gone, slipping into the crowd, leaving Aisha with the echo of danger and desire.
