Chapter 67 - Chapter 67: Pick Up Our Princess in Front of Us, Right?

Os, the president of Tianma Petroleum Company, had just returned home from a meeting and hadn't even sat down when his butler rushed in with bad news.

"Master, this is bad! Master Deka has been kidnapped again!"

Pfft!

Os almost spat out a mouthful of blood. This was unbelievable! His son had been kidnapped again?

He'd just been rescued yesterday and released from the hospital this morning—and now he was kidnapped once more?

Even if you want to fleece a sheep, you can't keep grabbing the same one!

This was too much!

Couldn't they kidnap someone else for a change?

"Who did it?"

Os struggled to contain his anger. He had already paid a huge ransom to save his son last time. If it happened again, he was seriously considering not saving him this time.

He could even use this as an opportunity—sacrifice his son in exchange for more power and wealth from the old man.

"I don't know yet, sir. There's been no call."

The butler lowered his head, pretending to be solemn, though he was secretly delighted. He still remembered being slapped by Deka not long ago. He couldn't retaliate openly, but seeing the arrogant young master suffer gave him immense satisfaction.

"Notify me immediately when the kidnappers call."

Os was so furious that he couldn't even rest. He sat there fuming, utterly exhausted yet sleepless.

Not long after, the Morgan family also received a report—one of their members had been kidnapped, and the ransom demand was $1.5 billion.

But this time, the kidnappers didn't ask for cash. They wanted an electronic transfer instead.

The provided account belonged to two unlucky guys who had been kidnapped earlier. Clearly, this wasn't the same group as before!

Previously, Wickman only demanded cash. But this time, the electronic transfer left a digital trail.

Any online money transfer inevitably leaves transaction records—something that can be traced.

This incident wasn't really about the money—it was a test of artificial intelligence, specifically EDITH. Using the Green Goblin as a smokescreen, they wanted to observe how well EDITH could trace digital transactions.

At an unknown pier.

Steve Rogers stood facing the ocean breeze, silent, while Bucky Barnes—the Winter Soldier—stood quietly behind him.

Their friendship ran deep, forged in the fires of World War II. Even after decades, Steve was still willing to risk everything for Bucky.

A hovering fighter jet suddenly appeared at the deserted dock—it seemed to materialize from thin air.

It used cutting-edge stealth technology, invisible even to U.S. military radar.

A tall, broad-shouldered man approached through the shadows. If not for Steve's keen eyesight, he might not have noticed him at all.

Indeed, in the dark, Black people really did have a natural camouflage advantage.

"Hello, Captain America. I'm T'Challa. You were the one who contacted us, right?"

At this time, T'Challa hadn't yet become the Black Panther. He was still a student at an Ivy League university. He wouldn't have come personally if not for his father's insistence.

Though Africa was still developing, the royal families and tribal leaders who controlled vast resources were extremely wealthy. Many of their children studied abroad in the U.S. to build political and business connections that would help sustain their power back home.

Steve had learned about this from the S.H.I.E.L.D. database. It was fascinating information, even if not immediately useful.

"Hello. Just call me Steve, T'Challa," Rogers said. "Your cousin, N'Jadaka—he now goes by Erik—is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps with the Seventh Fleet.

There's also a man named Ulysses Klaue who's selling your country's vibranium. I'm telling you this because I need your help—and you're the only one I trust."

T'Challa's eyes widened. He hadn't even known he had a cousin, let alone that someone was stealing and selling Wakanda's most sacred resource.

This was serious. Vibranium was as important to Wakanda as nuclear weapons were to the rest of the world—strictly forbidden from trade.

"Thank you for the information, Captain. How can I help you?"

T'Challa didn't doubt Steve's words for a moment. Captain America's reputation was beyond reproach.

"This is my old friend Bucky Barnes. He's been brainwashed and controlled. I'd like your help to remove the hypnotic conditioning from his mind," Steve explained, briefly recounting their shared past in World War II—though he omitted any mention of Hydra.

Hearing the story of such unwavering loyalty and friendship that had lasted over seventy years left T'Challa deeply moved. Even his royal guards looked at Steve with newfound respect.

T'Challa smiled faintly. "Aren't you afraid we might betray you?"

"If it were anyone else, maybe," Steve said simply. "But I believe in you, T'Challa."

No further words were needed. Trust alone was enough.

"Very well. Leave him with me. It'll take at least six months—at most, a year."

T'Challa extended his hand, and Steve shook it firmly. Mutual respect flowed between them.

"Thank you. If you ever need anything in the U.S., don't hesitate to contact me," Steve said.

He didn't mind building a friendship with T'Challa. Wakanda was rich—and having a powerful ally never hurt.

Once Bucky's issue was resolved, Steve knew he'd gain not just an ally but a friend he could truly trust.

Checking the time, he realized he had another mission that night—to deal with a group of harvester vampires.

At a manhole cover.

A 1.9-meter-tall vampire was locked in a fierce fight with Blade, the vampire hunter.

Nissa and her bodyguards stood nearby, watching coldly. She despised these arrogant guards. They obeyed only her father—not her.

When Steve arrived, Blade landed a solid punch, sending the vampire crashing to the ground. He then embedded a small bomb at the back of its head.

"If you keep talking trash about me or my master, I'll blow your head off," Blade said, grinning beneath his sunglasses. It was that trademark confident smirk that made him Marvel's ultimate tough guy.

"Did you run into any trouble on the way?" Nissa asked, her tone soft and genuinely concerned.

Instead of criticizing him for being late, she cared about his safety—proof of a smart woman who knew how to handle her man. Only foolish women picked pointless fights.

"It's fine," Steve said. "We ran into someone with technology at least fifty years ahead of ours. I'll take you there next time if I get the chance. But for now, it's about time for dinner."

Steve casually wrapped an arm around Nissa and kissed her boldly.

"You're impossible!" she said playfully, her sharp eyes softening into tenderness.

"What do you want to eat?" she asked.

Watching the two of them flirt so openly, Nissa's guards shifted uncomfortably.

"Wait, Princess, we're on a mission right now!" said one of them, nicknamed Priest.

Bang!

The next instant, Priest went flying more than twenty meters, crashing headfirst into a trash can and staying down.

"I want to have a midnight snack first. Who's in favor? Who's against?" Steve said, raising an eyebrow.

At this point, even Zhou Chao would've had to step aside.

"I'll go! I'll drive the Mazda and lead the way!" someone quickly volunteered.
