As soon as the Rockefeller family's plot was discussed, the intelligence quickly reached Steve through Hydra's infiltrators.
When Steve Rogers returned to his Manhattan villa, he found not only Nisha and her bodyguards waiting but also Sharon Carter.
"Hey, honey," Sharon greeted with a smile, looping her arm through his and leaning close.
Peggy Carter, upon learning about what had happened between her niece and Steve, had nearly fainted from shock. But after some thought, she accepted it. At her age, she knew Steve couldn't possibly have romantic feelings for her anymore.
Steve wasn't the type of man with a "soldier boy's" eccentric tastes—naturally, he preferred someone young and full of life.
After making peace with it, Peggy asked her niece to take good care of him on her behalf.
Steve nodded politely to Nisha. "Make yourselves comfortable. I've got something to handle first. We'll talk later if you need me."
Nisha didn't think much of it at first—until she heard faint sounds of pleading coming from the study. Her expression immediately turned strange.
She had done her research: Steve Rogers was known for his discipline and focus. In documentaries, he was shown checking his pocket watch on the battlefield—a photo of Peggy hidden beneath the cover.
Yet here he was, already entangled with someone new. So much for the "faithful hero" image!
Even Wei Lian, one of Nisha's bodyguards, was slightly shaken by what she heard.
It took Sharon quite some time to regain her composure before reporting, "Steve, Deka has gone to the local New York crime lord, Wilson Fisk—Kingpin. He's planning your assassination. The killer he hired is Bullseye, a top assassin trained by the Rockefeller family!"
"Alright, I'll pay him a visit. By the way, how did Edith's system inspection go?" Steve asked, his expression turning serious.
He had assumed the Rockefellers would challenge him openly through court when the lawsuit arrived—but to his surprise, they had chosen to attack from both the front and the shadows.
Well, if they wanted to play dirty, Captain America could return the favor.
This wasn't the old, soft-hearted Captain America. This was the modern Steve Rogers—one who paid debts, returned favors, and made his enemies regret crossing him.
"Agent Hill already ran diagnostics—no issues. She's also secured satellite access for you," Sharon said, her face flushing slightly, her tone filled with pride.
Steve smiled. With satellite support, his next plan could finally move forward.
He needed reliable allies—fighters.
His childhood friend, Bucky Barnes, was the best candidate. But as the Winter Soldier, Bucky still carried Hydra's brainwashing triggers. If they weren't removed, anyone could manipulate him into a killing frenzy.
During the Cold War, the Winter Soldier had been Hydra's deadliest weapon, responsible for countless assassinations.
Unfortunately, Alexander Pierce, Hydra's leader within S.H.I.E.L.D., still controlled Bucky's programming. To truly free his friend, Steve needed to break that control.
And while Pierce believed Steve was targeting the Winter Soldier himself, Steve had a different plan entirely.
Because in Hydra's Siberian base, five other Winter Soldiers were still frozen in stasis—waiting to be retrieved.
You think I'm after your asset, Pierce? I'm actually after my best friend.
Once everything was confirmed, Steve prepared to meet Pierce in person—to request both Bucky's release and a transport plane to Siberia.
If he acted alone, it would be nearly impossible. But with Pierce's status as Secretary-General of the World Security Council, Steve only needed a "diplomatic mission" as cover.
In the living room, Nisha sat cross-legged in tight black leather pants, her hands resting gracefully on her thighs.
Wearing high heels during yoga made her look a little out of place—but her balance and poise were flawless.
As soon as Steve appeared, she opened her eyes.
"Steve, we've located Faith's hideout. We'll need your help to capture him."
Nisha stood up instantly, showing off a flash of her supernatural speed—like a phantom.
"Alright," Steve replied calmly, "but I'll need some evidence of certain individuals' crimes in return. I believe your people can help gather that."
He continued, "I suggest you take your team and try capturing him first. If it's too much for you, call me then."
Steve wasn't helping out of kindness. He wanted leverage—evidence against certain political figures that Hydra couldn't provide.
These included members of parliament, judges, prosecutors, and sheriffs—all part of the Gorgon faction, deeply tied to the Rockefeller family.
This was his chance to flip them. Without it, he'd be fighting a legal and political battle with no allies.
Nisha frowned when she heard those names. Even for her, that was a difficult request.
Steve didn't mind. He was playing the long game.
Once the hybrid vampire Faith rose in power, he'd inevitably challenge the old vampire aristocracy. That kind of internal struggle would force the vampires to bargain—and Steve would be waiting with his terms.
The stronger the enemy, the brighter Captain America would shine.
The greater the chaos, the higher his value.
Nisha suddenly recalled a strange phrase that seemed oddly fitting—"legal pig farming."
The matter was serious, and she couldn't decide on her own. "I'll report this to the Vampire King and let him decide. Goodbye, Captain."
She turned and left quickly—after all, the fate of her entire clan was at stake, and no one cared more than her.
Her bodyguard Wei Lian hesitated for a moment, glancing at Steve. She still hadn't forgotten the wildness of the previous night. Once you've experienced such intensity, ordinary life never feels the same again.
But since Steve didn't say anything, she didn't dare linger.
Besides, he clearly had work to do.
And so, one by one, the three women left the villa—each heading in a different direction, carrying their own secrets and ambitions.
