"And he was also the father of Lady Peculiar."
It felt like my system automatically shut down at that information and I stood with a lost look.
I didn't even know what to say or how to react.
"Your things are being moved but we will leave first. I have prepared our carriages," he calmly informed me after that.
It would be such a hassle to stay another day here, so it is only right that I leave now to be on a safe side but I couldn't overlook what Lauren said.

He always had the upper hand and looked confident but for him to look that way was a call for concern.

He couldn't and wouldn't do anything to harm me….right?
As he proceeded to move since our hands were linked, I restrained him and he gave me a quizzical look.
"Is that all?" I asked while watching him closely.
"Are you doubting me, Deborah?" He asked back with a slight look of hurt.
"No."
