When Rai's eyes flicked open the next morning, the first thing that hit him was the heavy, dull ache radiating from his lower back straight down to his thighs.
He lay completely still, staring blankly at the unfamiliar sunlight filtering through the window curtains.
It took a few long, drowsy seconds for his brain to process his surroundings.
The damp, ruined bedsheets from the night before were gone. Beneath him now was crisp, clean fabric, fresh and dry. He was still entirely bare under the covers, but someone had tucked the heavy duvet all the way up to his collarbones, sealing him in a warm, comfortable cocoon.
Well, that someone was defintely Zade...
Rai shifted slightly, instantly regretting the motion as his sore muscles protested with a sharp twinge. He groaned into the pillow, turning his head, only to freeze.
