That day, Ria didn't go back. Zade stayed until a little late to accompany the 'crybaby', eventually earning himself an earful as he decided it had been enough sad time and ended up teasing Rai.
Still, that seemed to make Rai feel a bit better, though neither of them completely forgot about the matter. It heavily bothered them, leaving a lingering feeling that they needed to do something.
"This is a small village and these people won't bother going to the police and stuff," Zade said. "If this happened at a time Ron was not in the hospital, he would probably still keep living in that house... but now it cannot happen since he is not capable of living alone. I was thinking we could let him stay here. But I wanted to ask you first."
Rai hummed in response, offering no opposition. That was exactly what he had been thinking, too.
But...
"I wonder what the Principal will say?" Rai asked.
