"That was rude. She was my coworker."
Rai honestly didn't think so.
But he said so as they stood in the checkout line, Zade looking completely relaxed now, maybe even happier, now that the shopping was finally over.
"Well then, why didn't you defend her? What kind of coworker are you?"
Zade asked lazily, his hand still resting on Rai's shoulder like he owned the spot.
"Why would you say something so insane for no reason?"
"Oh, you mean the part where I told her about your type?"
"Do you even know my type? Weren't you just blabbering nonsense? Also, she wasn't like that. You just made her uncomf-"
"Shut up, Rai. It's obvious." Zade cut him off immediately. "She really wanted to go to lunch with you. Nobody sounds that desperate to invite someone if it's just a coworker."
"Don't make up stuff."
"Come on, Rai. I know you're dumb and all, but you can't be THAT oblivious."
"You just saw her once. How could you even-"
