Chapter 3 - An Unexpected Mission!

After talking for a little while, Ash finally managed to explain it in a simple way so that Old Ni would fully grasp the situation.

"Now then, let's return to the main topic." Ash smiled and tapped his feet on the ground as he continued. "As you already know, in order for me to perform those… miraculous feats, we need to expand and strengthen the tribe, only then can I gather more power. So, do you have any plans in mind?"

Old Ni fell silent for a moment.

When he finally spoke, his fists were clenched tightly at his sides.

"The Varkesh Tribe is still out of the question," he said in a low voice. After a brief pause, he nodded firmly. "Given our current strength, I believe the Mirefang Tribe is our best option."

The reason why Old Ni reacted that way when he mentioned the Varkesh Tribe was because his family was killed by them a long time ago. His former tribe was basically massacred by them while he was away.

When he found out that his family was killed by them, he fell into rage and immediately went toward the Blackroot Forest to avenge his family. Unfortunately for him, he was still at the Peak 2nd Rank Warrior and just the moment he entered the Blackroot Forest, he suddenly got ambushed.

Had his grandfather not coincidentally passed by and saved him, Old Ni would have died that day.

Just as he was recalling Old Ni's past, he was surprised when he heard a notification from the system.

[Ding! You have received a side mission.]

[Objective: Help Nirgos take revenge on the Tribe Lord of Varkesh Tribe.]

[Time Limit: 7 Days]

[Failure: ???]

[Reward: ???]

Ash knitted his eyebrows when he read the notifications.

It wasn't because of their strength that made him frown rather than their expertise in poison, which was quite terrifying to be frankly speaking.

In terms of sheer power, his father had once mentioned that the Varkesh Tribe was slightly weaker than the Ragh'Tal Tribe. However, in a full-scale battle, the Ragh'Tal Tribe would be wiped out, even if the Varkesh suffered heavy losses.

That was precisely why Old Ni had never considered them an option—even after advancing to the 4th Rank Warrior.

"Is there something wrong with it?" Old Ni asked when he noticed Ash's expression.

Ash snapped back to reality and let out a light chuckle.

"No, nothing's wrong," he replied, raising an eyebrow. "In fact, I agree. The Mirefang Tribe is our best choice at the moment."

"Indeed." Old Ni nodded his head.

"Then when do you plan to act?" Old Ni asked curiously.

"Tomorrow," Ash replied calmly. "Gather everyone in the main hall. We'll discuss it together."

"The elders are already in the main hall," Old Ni informed him. "They're discussing another matter."

Ash nodded and waved his hand dismissively. "That's good. Wait a little while, I'll head there with you."

After Old Ni left, Ash returned his attention to the system. Until now, he had only explored the functions of Tribal Points.

When he checked the next most important thing, he was surprised to find the system points' usage.

It was actually a simple one, which was used as a currency for the shop in the system. However, the shop itself wasn't as simple as that because he could buy a lot of things in it.

To the point that it wasn't an exaggeration that he could buy everything… except for talent, as he could even buy a Card and scroll.

Yes!

The Card where you could obtain an item of your choice or the Scroll where you would be given a random skill, in which they could only be obtained through a drop chance with an extremely low percentage.

Naturally the price to buy them was extremely high but at least now he had another way to obtain such things.

There were other options that the shop provided, such as upgrading things with the Tribe's facilities or even potions like a poison resistance potion.

When he found out that he could buy the poison resistance potion, he immediately became happy and bought some.

[Ding! 10,000 System Points have been successfully deducted.]

[Ding! You have successfully purchased x10 3rd Rank Poison Resistance Potions.]

[Ding! 10,000 System Points have been successfully deducted.]

[Ding! You have successfully purchased x1 4th Rank Poison Resistance Potions.]

Ash didn't bat an eye when he purchased and spent 2,000 System Points, since he thought that obtaining system points was much easier compared to the Tribal Points.

The way to obtain them was simple, selling valuable items such as beast cores, rare herbs, items, rare materials, etc.

Subsequently, he checked the rewards' rank he had received, as he had no idea what orange color's rank was at.

_White Card (1st Rank Item) | Scroll / Orb (F Rank)

_Gray Card (2nd Rank Item) | Scroll / Orb (E Rank)

_Green Card (3rd Rank Item) | Scroll / Orb (D Rank)

_Blue Card (4th Rank Item) | Scroll / Orb (C Rank)

_Cyan Card (5th Rank Item) Scroll / Orb (B Rank)

_Yellow Card (6th Rank Item) Scroll / Orb (A Rank)

_Orange Card (7th Rank Item) Scroll / Orb (S Rank)

Ash opened his eyes wide, as he was surprised to see that the rewards he had obtained were extremely precious this time.

Basically, in order to obtain Card, Scroll, or Orb, you must kill beasts or monsters from the dungeon and it would only then you need to be extremely lucky to be able to obtain them since their drop chance's percentage were extremely low, from the easiest to get between them—the Card to the hardest one, which was the orb where you would be granted a talent.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to use the Orb on himself and just save the Orange level Card and scroll later on, as he had something in mind.

Then, he immediately took out the orange orb and crushed it.

[Ding! You have obtained S-Ranked Talent – Sovereign Amplification]
