"Thank you," Asher said quietly.
"However," she continued, "I need to prepare you. The other children will hear about this. They will ask questions. And Kai and Lily will need to understand what's happening in an age-appropriate way."
Asher's stomach sank. "I know."
"I recommend speaking with our school counselor. She specializes in helping children process difficult situations."
"We'll do that," Kael said.
After the meeting, they sat in the car, twins buckled in the back.
"Fer-daddy?" Kai asked quietly. "Why are people taking our pictures?"
This was it.
The conversation Asher had been dreading.
He turned in his seat to face his children.
"Remember how we talked about Mer-daddy being your father?"
Both twins nodded.
"Well, Mer-daddy is also... famous. He runs a very big company. And sometimes, when people are famous, other people get very curious about them."
