Rory immediately turned to look at Jasper.
Seeing her gaze fall on him, Jasper quickly raised both hands in denial.
"Rory, it's not mine. Believe me—there's no way it's mine."
Rory's body tensed. What exactly was wrong with these three? Shouldn't they be happy about having a child?
Why did it feel, judging by their reactions, as though the baby in her belly had suddenly become a hot potato none of them wanted to touch?
"What do you three mean by this?"
Rory's gaze swept slowly across Jasper, Nix, and Xarion, her expression growing dangerous.
"You don't want the baby in my stomach?"
"No, that's not it, Rory!" Jasper said hurriedly. "We're not saying we don't want the baby!"
No matter whose child Rory was carrying, they would be happy about it.
But only if the baby was something Rory herself wanted.
Nix spoke next, his face full of guilt.
