The next day, after the fire disaster had passed, Mu Nianbing and Lingling rode atop the Cangming Jiao, soaring across the skies in search of Fire Spirit Seeds.
The others remained on Huozhu Mountain. With Jiang Feng guarding them, there was no need to worry about their safety.
Even if the Ghost Woman and Zhao Yulin's group arrived early, they wouldn't be a match for him.
Now that Jiang Feng and Chen Ying had reconciled, the Ghost Woman's schemes had completely fallen apart.
A few hours later, Mu Nianbing and Lingling returned to Huozhu Mountain on the back of the Cangming Jiao.
After the fire, the northern edge of Zhuoyuan had turned into a vast sea of molten gold.
Relying on the Cangming Jiao's terrifying speed, Mu Nianbing had collected three Fire Spirit Seeds and countless spirit seed fragments along the way.
Altogether, the value of their spoils reached nearly one hundred million.
"Chen Ying, when will your father's team arrive?" Mu Nianbing asked.
"It should take a few more days, but I'm not entirely sure," Chen Ying replied.
Mu Nianbing shook his head lightly. "Then we'll wait and see."
A few days later, while keeping watch, Mu Nianbing noticed a flock of startled birds bursting out of the forest canopy.
"Could that be Zhao Yulin's group?" he thought to himself. Regardless of who it was, he decided to investigate.
After saying a few words to Mo Fan and the others, Mu Nianbing headed toward the forest.
Not long after entering, he caught the faint scent of blood.
A little further in, he found the body of a man wearing a green military uniform.
"Military mage?" Mu Nianbing's pupils contracted.
He remembered that a military unit had been dispatched to Zhuoyuan's northern corner—one led by Nan Jue herself!
Their mission wasn't to seek treasure after the fire, but to capture the Ghost Woman.
Suddenly, Mu Nianbing sensed movement behind him.
Having refined his Spatial Magic through the Three-Step Tower, his perception ability was close to perfection.
Though not on par with a Sound Mage, he could easily detect subtle motion within a small radius.
He turned just as green Devil Vines shot out from the ground, coiling toward him at blinding speed.
"Ice Vine!"
The constellation in his mind flickered to life, and his pupils turned an icy blue.
A surge of frost swept outward, instantly freezing the demonic vines solid.
With a snap of his fingers, the frozen vines shattered into shards of ice that scattered across the forest floor.
Not far away stood a tall woman in a military uniform, watching him in surprise.
"Could this person be a high-level mage?" Nan Jue murmured under her breath.
Someone reaching that level at his age was likely a future candidate for the National Government.
Mu Nianbing's gaze fell on Nan Jue. He examined her calmly from head to toe before his eyes paused on her impossibly long, graceful legs.
They were slender, toned, and elegant—her entire figure exuding the poise and authority of a soldier.
He smirked faintly. "Isn't it a bit unreasonable to launch a surprise attack without saying anything first?"
"Why are you here?" Nan Jue demanded, ignoring his question. Her voice carried the sharp authority of a commander.
Even if he was here for the treasures, he had no reason to intrude in this area.
"Do I need to explain myself to you?" Mu Nianbing replied coldly.
An aura of frost spread from his body, chilling the air around them. Nan Jue instinctively tensed, a shiver running down her spine.
"Ice Element… High-level…"
Her eyes widened slightly as she confirmed her suspicion.
"I'm sorry. My attack just now was… impulsive."
She quickly realized that the man before her wasn't someone she could afford to offend.
Even if her strike had only been meant as a precaution, ambushing another mage was unacceptable—especially one this powerful.
"Forget it this time," Mu Nianbing said indifferently. "But don't make the same mistake again."
He gave her one last glance—her long legs catching his peripheral vision again—and turned away.
Nan Jue noticed his gaze, and a flicker of irritation flashed in her eyes, though she chose to ignore it.
"Can you… help me find my teammates?" she asked after a brief pause, her tone softening.
Mu Nianbing nodded casually. "Sure."
After a quick search, the two found six of Nan Jue's remaining soldiers.
She had originally brought ten people; now, only six remained. It was clear how deadly this forest had become.
"Thank you," Nan Jue said sincerely.
Though she had been wary of him at first, his strength and actions had completely changed her impression.
With power like his, if Mu Nianbing truly meant harm, she wouldn't stand a chance.
"It was nothing," Mu Nianbing replied casually.
Just as he was about to lead them back toward the Star Language Tree, he sensed another team approaching.
Apart from Nan Jue's group, the only other possible party in this area would be Zhao Yulin's.
"What is it?" Nan Jue asked when she saw his expression turn serious.
Mu Nianbing didn't answer. He stepped forward silently, his sharp gaze fixed on the approaching figures.
Moments later, a well-equipped team appeared through the trees.
Among them, a figure wrapped entirely in white cloth stood out—it was the Ghost Woman.
Mu Nianbing immediately hid behind a large tree, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Nan Jue followed behind and frowned when she saw the white-clad figure.
"What are you staring at them for?" she whispered.
"There's something suspicious about that person in white," Mu Nianbing murmured. "I'll explain later."
Because she was so close, he could faintly catch the scent of her perfume—light, clean, and disciplined, like her.
Nan Jue realized their proximity and quickly stepped back, turning her face away.
The Ghost Woman and her team moved forward, unaware of the danger watching from the shadows.
When they were less than a hundred meters away, an overwhelming surge of magic exploded from Mu Nianbing's body.
Nan Jue, standing nearest to him, froze in disbelief.
This was no ordinary high-level aura—this was power honed beyond perfection!
"Millennium Ice Prison!"
A blizzard of glacial energy swept across the forest. In an instant, countless icicles descended, encasing the Ghost Woman completely within a massive prison of ice.
The temperature plummeted. Even Zhao Yulin's higher-level allies trembled violently, while those weaker were frozen solid where they stood.
"So strong…" Nan Jue whispered in awe, her eyes wide as she stared at Mu Nianbing.
How could someone so young possess such terrifying magic power?
Even within the military, Nan Jue had never seen a young mage this extraordinary—not even among those at her own level.
