Chapter 90 - Clueless

All the inquisitors were, in their own way, as defiant as Irkan. In the end, Aleric was simply glad that he overpowered and subdued them.

Now they were standing in front of him, pale from death and bloody from their wounds. Aleric had explained to them their new status, and the undead were gradually getting used to it and being left away from the light.

The cleric, Maria, was taking it the worst so far. She was the quietest, and the entire time her hands were folded in prayer. Still, Aleric didn't doubt that she would be loyal.

"I will ask again—do any of you remember what Garron's current plans are?" Aleric asked his new servants.

So far, all of them had huge spots in the last month of memories. Beyond that, things got much better, which was a relief.

"I… We didn't see him in person for weeks," Irkan said, rubbing his forehead.

"He went with the royal army," Maria said quietly. "Gave us orders to… Slow down your gathering of power, if this was the best we could do."
