Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Call Of Duty

Anthony Lawrence stood at the podium, the room quiet as every eye locked onto him. The weight of the moment settled in as he took a breath, hands resting firmly on the edges of the stand. It was an honor, he said, to be chosen for a mission like this—one that few ever got the chance to face. Years of work, sacrifice, and long nights had led to this moment.

He spoke about the journey, how nothing about it had been easy, and how every step had prepared him for what was coming next. This mission wasn't just an assignment—it was the result of a lifetime of dedication, and it was only just beginning.Anthony walked down from the podium, his uniform crisp under the lights. He spotted his friends near the corner and made his way toward them."That was an amazing speech, Anthony," Michelle said excitedly. "Absolutely," Diego said, a grin spreading across his face. "Thanks, but i couldn't have done it without you guys," he said, cracking a smile. "And either way this isn't just about me...its about all of us, we've been at this academy for seven years and we never thought for a moment in our lives that we'd ever be here today," he added. "well it has been one hell of a journey," Diego said as he nudged Anthony. "wow-i can't believe that we've been here since we were 15," Michelle said, we've really come a long way huh. As the crew continued to reminisce, a man in a black suit and dark sunglasses approached them. "Excuse me, officers. If you don't mind, could I have a moment of your time? Anthony nodded. "Of course, sir. How can we help?" "Just this way," the man pointed to a room just behind the podium. Okay here we are, my name is Daniel Wittmann, i'm here to discuss the circumstances of your special assignment. Diego nodded, arms crossed. "Understood. Let's hear them." Michelle leaned forward slightly. "We're ready. Lay them out for us."Very well. Let's proceed. Confidentiality – "Everything about this mission stays classified. No outside contact, no exceptions." Chain of Command – "All decisions go through official channels. No solo moves without approval." "International Conduct – You should respect the laws and authorities of every country you operate in." "Team First – No one acts alone. If one officer is compromised, the mission pauses until the team is secure." Anthony cracked a small smile. "Sounds good. We've got this." "Before we move any further, there are a few documents that need your signatures. Standard procedure for this mission."

Mitchelle slid the papers across the table and picked up a pen. She signed each form carefully, double-checking the details before handing them back. Her movements were precise, showing she took the process seriously.

Diego leaned over the table, pen in hand, and signed the documents quickly but neatly. He gave a small nod when finished, making sure everything was in order before sliding the papers back toward the man. Anthony picked up the pen last, scanning each document one more time. Satisfied, he signed with a steady hand and handed the papers back, a confident smile on his face.

Daniel looked at them, his eyes sharp and unreadable. He let a slow smile form. "Welcome… to Special Forces."

The room went quiet for a moment, the weight of the words sinking in. And with that, their journey began.
