"Miss Thor, someone request to see you"
I looked up to see my junior, Victoria, call me out as she opens the door to my office, I move my glasses up and smile. "I'll be there, tell them that"
"Yes ma'am" Victoria closes the door as I ready myself to meet the person who wants to see me. I walk out the office and went to the waiting room and saw a woman weeping as Victoria comforts her. I sat down, properly fixing my skirt as I faced the woman.
"What seems to be the trouble?" I questioned and she answers in cracking tone. "Please help me, I accidentally took the witches book by mistake of mine and now she is angry and has cursed my family" She leans over to Victoria. Looking her up and down she seemed like a woman from a wealthy family with clothes that are affordable to middle class, simple and pretty.
"Could you please talk to her, I heard you are good friends with the witch" She pleaded and offered money in exchange for breaking the curse that was set upon her family. I glee and went to sat beside her as I took her hand and said, "You do not have to fear miss Reyn; I shall go speak to her personally".
"How do you know my name?"
"That is a secret, and as for payment" I waved my hand and closed the case that was filled with money and put it aside somewhere then looked at miss Reyn. "I shall help you though in addition, you must bring the children to come and study here every weekend, I heard they have test coming up" I smiled.
"Thank you miss Thor, I will" She cried in tears, and I hug to comfort her.
"Victoria prepare the doors"
"Yes ma'am" Victoria hurried; putting on the door of somewhat like a seal that was written of my location and then she opens the doors for me, the portal ready as I prepared things I needed for travel to the land of witches and wizards.
"It is ready miss Thor" "Alright" I said as I stand in front of the door and entered the portal, arriving outside the library doors of the witchcraft library.
To explain on how it works, if a seal or a small sheet of paper was written of my location and sticked to the door, the magic door opens to a portal of where I needed to go and ends me up stepping outside of another located library.
As I arrived the land of witches and wizards, I was greeted by a young wizard in around age of Victoria, arriving at the right time.
"What brings you here miss Thor?" he asked. "I have come here to meet the witch pacifica, do you know where she is?"
"I have heard she is at home, cooling down after what happened, we were expecting you miss Thor"
"I see, I shall go then" I waved goodbye and proceed to Pacifica's home that was at the edge south of the island. Her house was purple of color with a mix of black and surrounding her house was grass of greens and a black fence, the place was not scary rather it was normal like the rest of the houses.
Knocking on the door, I was greeted by a cheerful witch who jumped in my arms with excitement.
"Miss Thor, oh how lovely it is to see you here"
"It is lovely to see you to pacifica, though I am here because of what I have heard."
"Oh please, it wasn't my fault that she stole the book" Pacifica went inside and sat on the black couch and magic some tea set on the table and offered me one as I sat.
"What happened?" I asked and she starts to tell her side of the story. "While I was picking some fresh bread, she took my book and put it in her basket, the audacity, that is why I put a curse that she and her family will be sick and never get better and only I could turn it back"
"Have you seen another book?" I questioned and she look at me with second thought as she thinks about it.
"Now that you mention it, I saw another book after cursing her, but the strange thing is it was for witches in witch's academy, why would she ever have one?" She questioned and I reason.
"Maybe because she has children that goes there?"
"But she was no witch, she was a baker?"
"A baker?" I tilted my head with confusion, and she explains that when she encountered miss Reyn, she was covered with flour and wearing a baker's outfit. That is strange, their stories were different. There is one way to find out.
"I shall go now pacifica"
Pacifica pouts but lets me go and said goodbye to me one last time before I left to the location where pacifica said it happen. It was full of people and the bakery shop outside was noisy as ever. I asked around for clues, and everyone had different perspective. Others had the perspective of miss Reyn and other had the perspective of pacifica. But what was the same was miss Reyn was seen with flour covered and in baker's clothes.
But why was miss Reyn in bakers' clothes?
I used my book of information and written miss Reyn's name and information about he comes out.
Turns out she has a wealthy bakery stand nearby here. Going there, I saw it was stranded and no bread in display. Insects everywhere on the place.
"That shop has been closed for a month's now" a passerby informs, it was an old man holding a cane and a basket full of bread rolls.
"May I know why?" I asked and the old man answered that it became bankrupt due to insect infection. Now it makes sense.
It puts the pieces the together now. I thanked the old man and head back to Pacifica's house where I told Victoria to bring miss Reyn to Pacifica's place.
At her house, there sat face to face miss Reyn and Pacifica who was still mad about the book stealing while I sat in the middle chair that was between them.
"Ehm, now then, to explain what happened I found out what is going on, so could miss Reyn tell the truth, we won't be angry"
Miss Reyn hesitated and she finally told the truth, turns out she did steal the book to help the bread store run again. She apologizes to Pacifica, and she patted her on the shoulder, telling her also an apology and that she will lift the curse and help stop the insect infection.
They both hugged it out and me and Victoria got to go back in the library where it was quiet and peaceful.
Until another person came to the doors and we greeted them with politeness.
"Welcome to Universal Library, where books and knowledge are here to help you solve your problems, how may I help you today?"
