Chapter 81 - Chapter 81 – Quiet Mornings and Silent Authority

The next Sunday morning arrived quietly.

PK woke up to find Luna curled against him, her arms wrapped tightly around his chest, breathing softly in her sleep. The other side of the bed was empty.

He turned his head and gently kissed Lana's forehead.

"Good morning, my doctor," he whispered. "Wake up."

Lana stirred, opened her eyes, and immediately clung to him, resting her head on his shoulder with a sleepy smile.

Carefully, PK lifted Luna in both arms while she remained half-asleep against his other side. Just like that, he carried Luna downstairs.

In the kitchen, Lana and Eve were already preparing breakfast.

The moment they saw PK carrying Luna so effortlessly, mixed emotions crossed their faces—jealousy, amusement, and happiness all tangled together.

PK gently placed Luna on a chair, but she leaned against him again, eyes still closed, clearly enjoying the attention.

"She's still sleepy," PK said calmly.

Lana and Eve exchanged a look.

Their patience snapped.

"Luna," Lana said sharply, hands on her hips, "that's enough pretending. You can wake up now."

Caught.

Luna slowly opened one eye, then the other, before sitting up properly with an innocent smile.

PK chuckled.

"Even if I know she's pretending," he said lightly, "I'd still do the same."

Luna smiled back at him.

Two sharp, glaring stares immediately locked onto PK.

"Alright, alright," he raised his hands slightly. "I'll treat you both exactly the same."

That seemed to satisfy them—barely.

Breakfast passed peacefully, filled with soft conversation and comfortable silence.

Soon after, PK stood up.

"I'll be heading to the base now," he said.

They walked him to the door, each of them quietly wishing he'd stay longer.

At the Army Base

PK arrived at the army base later that morning.

At the security checkpoint, a guard asked for his identification. The moment the Tiger Squad Captain ID was presented, the atmosphere shifted completely.

No further questions were asked.

He was immediately escorted inside.

The base commanders mostly resided within or near the base, making access efficient for high-ranking officers. PK was guided directly to the administrative wing, where he briefly met the head officer—and Selene.

"I just came to review the security updates," PK said casually.

Selene nodded and led him to the security systems control room.

Once inside, PK sat down at one of the terminals.

What followed looked simple from the outside—typing, reviewing logs, adjusting parameters—but within hour, the entire system architecture was reinforced. Firewalls were rewritten, vulnerabilities sealed, and intrusion pathways eliminated entirely.

When he stood up, the system was no longer just secure.

It was untouchable.

PK dusted off his hands lightly.

"That should do it," he said.

With no intention of drawing attention, he turned and left the control room—unaware that from that moment onward, the base's digital defenses had silently entered an entirely new league.
