Chapter 55 - Chapter 55 – Sleepless Hearts

That night, sleep refused to come.

For Lana and Luna, the ceiling felt far too close, the silence far too loud. Every time they closed their eyes, the same moment replayed again and again—

The hug.

The warmth.

The kiss on their cheeks.

That calm smile.

Their faces burned with embarrassment, their hearts racing despite the stillness of the room.

Aunt Eve quietly opened the door and stepped inside.

She took one look at them—two identical figures curled under their blankets, faces glowing red—and raised an eyebrow.

"…What happened to your faces?" she asked innocently.

"Nothing," Lana replied too quickly.

"Just hot," Luna added, just as fast.

Aunt Eve smiled. She didn't press further.

Some things didn't need questions.

She turned off the light, shaking her head softly as she left.

"Hopeless," she murmured fondly.

Elsewhere in Z City, PK returned to his rented house.

He leaned back in his chair, a faint smile lingering on his face.

"I never thought," he muttered to himself, "that I'd have girlfriends in this life… let alone twins."

The thought amused him.

And warmed him.

But then, memories surfaced.

His previous life.

After high school, he had confessed to a girl from his class. They stayed together for five long years—until they didn't. The breakup had crushed him, leaving scars he hadn't realized he still carried.

Years later, at twenty-nine, he had finally met a girl who would become the love of his life.

His wife.

"I'll meet you again," he said quietly into the empty room.

"Just… not yet."

This life was different.

Slower. Wider. Full of possibilities.

"Let time take its course," PK decided.

"I'll enjoy the flow this time."

He smiled again, softer now.

Lana and Luna were unexpected.

Strange.

Exciting.

But before he took another step forward—

"I need to build myself first," he thought.

"I need to earn. To rise. To be ready."

Outside, the city slept.

Inside three different rooms, three different hearts remained awake—

each quietly anticipating what tomorrow might bring.
