Chapter 55 - Chapter 56: Monster King Orochi

Chapter 56: Monster King Orochi

Realizing that the so-called "Paradise Group" was comprised entirely of bald men, Saitama frowned deeply. A bad feeling rose in his heart.

If I let this Paradise Group continue causing trouble, one day I'll be walking down the street, and someone might point at me and accuse me of being one of them!

No way! I can't let that happen!

With that thought, Saitama made a decision.

I have to deal with these guys. I can't let them ruin the reputation of bald people!

Still in his pajamas, Saitama leaped up. In a flash, he changed into his hero suit, the white cape fluttering as he moved.

His simple, doodle-like face was gone, replaced by sharp, angular features. He looked incredibly serious.

"I'm heading out for a bit. To defend the dignity of baldness."

After Saitama closed the door, King and Genos were left staring at each other.

"Uh..."

Just as King was wondering if he should say something, Genos sat up straight, his expression solemn.

"King-sensei! Do you remember? You said that after our spar today, you would point out my flaws. Please enlighten me!"

Did I say that?

King scratched his head. I guess I did say something like that.

Alright, I'll give him a few casual pointers.

King proceeded to explain his concepts for modifying Genos's mechanical body.

As a cyborg, what Genos needed was to add more components to his frame to enhance his firepower and mobility.

The solutions King offered were eye-opening for the current Genos.

First, adding detachable mechanisms to his joints that could be reassembled at any time. This way, even if his arm was cut off in battle, he could immediately reattach it.

Second, adding a few auxiliary cores. Relying solely on the main core to power his increased firepower was clearly insufficient.

Finally, he needed to learn more close-quarters combat techniques. He shouldn't rely solely on firepower; he needed sufficient melee capability when enemies closed the distance.

In reality, these were all upgrades Genos would receive later in the story, but King was just mentioning them ahead of time.

After hearing several proposals in a row, Genos's mechanical eyes shone brightly. He felt enlightened.

"So that's how it is... Improvements can be made in these directions... Thank you, King-sensei! I think I know how to become stronger now! Excuse me for a moment!"

Bowing respectfully, Genos rushed out the door in a hurry, speeding toward Dr. Kuseno's lab.

He couldn't wait to undergo modifications based on King's suggestions to further enhance his strength.

Looking at the now-empty room, King rolled over nonchalantly and continued scrolling on his phone.

System didn't give a mission, the timeline is peaceful, and that fight was exhausting. I'll just rest today.

Compared to Saitama, who just swung his fists, King was mentally exhausted from today's battle.

If not for the instant speed of his regeneration, the pain of being blown apart repeatedly would have driven him insane.

Every time was bone-crushing, tendon-snapping agony. No one could endure that easily.

So, while his physical injuries healed instantly, the mental fatigue was unavoidable.

Today is a holiday. I'm resting.

Meanwhile, Deep Underground Beneath City Z.

The area that should have been solid earth had been hollowed out. A labyrinth of tunnels crisscrossed the entire underground.

These tunnels weren't rough burrows dug by moles; they were incredibly neat, with tiled walls and unlit torches placed every ten meters.

Shockingly, the tunnels were filled with a massive number of monsters, and each one possessed strength not inferior to Tiger-level.

If one didn't see it with their own eyes, they would never believe that such a massive monster nest lay beneath the sprawling metropolis of City Z.

At the intersection of the central pipelines, a gigantic cavern existed.

Inside stood a creature straight out of mythology.

Covered in dark purple scales, with dragon-like tails tipped with sharp fangs writhing behind him, and layers of gaping maws on his shoulders. His face resembled a dragon or a serpent. Standing a full hundred meters tall, his presence was overwhelming.

Monster King Orochi. The figurehead leader of the Monster Association.

At this moment, Orochi rolled his scarlet eyes, looking up at a bloated figure standing on a high platform. His chaotic, deep voice echoed through the cavern:

"Those two strong ones... have finished their battle. Do we proceed as planned?"

Clearly, as a "Dragon Above" entity, Orochi had sensed the battle between King and Saitama. Energy fluctuations of that level made even him wary.

From the shadows, a sinister voice with a long, drawn-out tone floated down:

"Continue to hide. The time is not yet ripe. The Monster Association's combat power hasn't reached its peak, and... a new variable has appeared."

The shadows receded, revealing the speaker: a creature resembling a pile of meat.

Pink skin piled up on a bloated body, a single giant eye taking up almost the entire face, and small, tentacle-like hands growing all around it.

Gyoro Gyoro (Psykos). The strategist of the Monster Association and a Dragon-level monster.

Gyoro Gyoro looked up at the ceiling, narrowing its single eye.

According to known intelligence, one of the combatants was King, the Strongest Man on Earth. This wasn't surprising.

After all, Gyoro Gyoro had listed King as one of the greatest threats long before this battle.

What truly shocked it was the other entity. That bald man who had just been promoted to S-Class... possessed power not inferior to King's.

It seems humanity is truly full of hidden powerhouses. It is not yet time for us to emerge. We must endure.

Even King wouldn't have guessed that his battle with the Caped Baldy would actually delay the Monster Association's emergence.
