I stayed in my room for almost two hours.
Not because I forgot what I was supposed to do, and not because I didn't want to go.
But because I chose the right decision.
At least… that's what I told myself.
The moment I left Kyle's room earlier, something in me had shifted. Not loudly. Not dramatically. Just enough to make everything feel slightly off-balance, like I had stepped out of a space where I didn't fully understand the rules anymore and had to recover the structure in my head.
So I did what I always do when I feel that happening.
I retreated.
I took a shower. I changed into comfortable clothes. I tried to slow my thoughts down enough to convince myself that the simplest answer was the right one: go to bed, forget this, let it end before it turns into something that can actually hurt me.
Because that's usually how it starts.
Not with obvious danger.
With something that feels too easy to step into.
Too natural to question.
Too warm to reject.
