-Kyle Vale:
Caspian moved first.
I was still lying down there, trying to recover from the fact that I had just been thrown into the ground multiple times, publicly humiliated in the most impressive way possible by Ezra, and somehow still survived the kiss when I felt Caspian shift beside me.
It wasn't loud.
It wasn't dramatic.
It was just… him.
He straightened his posture slightly, as his body had already reset itself back into control mode after the chaos of that kiss. Dust clung faintly to his knees, his hair slightly messier than usual from the wind and movement, but his expression remained the same.
Composed.
Unshaken.
Completely Caspian.
Then he stood up and turned toward me.
And without saying anything at first, he simply extended his hand.
My brain lagged.
Genuinely.
Like it needed a moment to process what it was seeing.
