The second the words left my mouth, I saw it again.
That same look.
The same one from yesterday during the dance.
It flashed through Caspian's eyes so quickly I almost thought I imagined it again, but there was no way I did. I knew what I saw. It wasn't fear exactly. Not fully. But it was close to panic—something sharp and sudden hidden beneath all that calmness he carried around like armor.
And somehow seeing it again made my chest tighten instantly.
Because it meant yesterday was real.
I didn't imagine it.
Something did happen between us during that dance.
But just like yesterday, it disappeared almost immediately.
Less than a second.
One blink.
And Caspian was already hiding it again.
His face smoothed back into that unreadable calmness so perfectly that if someone else had been standing here, they probably wouldn't have noticed anything at all.
But I noticed.
I always noticed everything about him.
Caspian looked away from me first.
Not dramatically.
