After Caspian walked away from me last night, I just stood there for a while like an absolute idiot.
I didn't move immediately. Didn't follow him either. I just stayed where I was beneath those dim wedding lanterns, staring at the open estate doors he had disappeared through only seconds earlier, while his words kept replaying in my head over and over again.
The reception area was almost empty by then. The music had stopped hours ago. Most of the lanterns floating above were dim now, casting soft golden light across cleaned tables and empty chairs while cold wind moved quietly through the estate gardens.
And there I was.
Still standing there.
Still thinking about him.
Pathetic.
