Chapter 5 - 5. The Legacy (end)

Six months later, HerConnect had trained over 2,000 young women across Nigeria in digital literacy and coding. Some of those girls had started freelancing; others had joined local tech hubs. The app had expanded to Ghana and Kenya.

BBC Africa featured their story. Government officials wanted to partner. Their startup had grown, but their mission stayed the same: empowering women through access, community, and technology.

One evening, on a rooftop overlooking the Lagos skyline, the four friends gathered again, just like that first night in Yaba.

"I can't believe how far we've come," Tomi whispered.

Amara smiled softly. "We built something from nothing. That's what women do."

Zainab adjusted her glasses. "Do you ever think about what's next?"

Isioma raised her phone, recording them under the golden sky. "Next? We keep building. We make sure every girl who dreams in Nigeria knows she can code, lead, and conquer."

The wind carried their laughter across the city, the laughter of women who refused to wait for permission.

Somewhere, a little girl in Ibadan opened HerConnect for the first time.

She typed her dream into the app:

> "I want to become a robotics engineer."

The system replied:

> "Welcome to HerConnect. Your journey begins now."

And just like that, the future whispered again

**The future is female.**
