Chapter 183 - Chapter 182: Progress

Location: Shibuya – Mt. Lady Agency Gym

Time: Day 1 (Monday) | 09:00 AM

CLANG.

Yu Takeyama dropped the heavy metal barbell onto the padded floor. She collapsed flat onto her back. Sweat dripped down her forehead and stung her eyes.

"My legs are completely on fire," Yu complained loudly. She stared up at the ceiling. "I cannot feel my arms at all."

Kaito stood over her. He held a small digital timer in his hand.

He just looked down at her with a calm, patient expression.

"Get up, Yu," Kaito said gently. "You still have three more sets. We already went over this. Your Quirk multiplies your base physical body. If your normal human body is slow and weak, your giant body is going to be a massive, incredibly slow target."

Yu groaned. She rolled over and pushed herself up to her knees.

"I hate cardio," Yu muttered.

"You are going to hate it a lot more if a villain sweeps your legs and you don't have the core strength to catch your own weight," Kaito pointed out. "Pick the bar back up."

Yu grabbed the cold metal bar. She forced herself to stand up.

Upstairs, the brand-new logistics team was dealing with their own massive headache.

BEEP.

Sora pressed a hand against his headset. He listened closely to the overlapping police radio chatter.

"We got a robbery in progress on 4th Avenue," Sora yelled across the office. "Three armed suspects are fleeing in a red van."

Renzo stared at his digital map of the city grid. He typed frantically.

"Routing Mt. Lady right now," Renzo said, his voice a little tight.

"Yes... Some hero stuff to do..." Yu heard the route through her earpiece.

Thud.

Clang.

She dropped the barbell, ran outside the agency, and activated her Quirk.

She shot up to twenty-two meters tall and sprinted down the street.

"Turn left on 14th Street!" Renzo instructed over the radio.

Yu turned the corner at full speed.

SCRAPE.

"What the!?" She immediately slammed into the sides of two massive office buildings.

The street was way too narrow for her giant shoulders.

She was completely wedged between the solid concrete walls.

"Renzo!" Yu yelled into her earpiece, trying to wiggle her arms free. "I don't fit! I am stuck!"

Down on the street, people stopped walking. Office workers opened their windows.

CLICK.

FLASH.

Dozens of civilians pulled out their phones and started taking pictures of the giant hero trapped in the alleyway.

Yu covered her face in complete embarrassment.

Back in the office, Renzo panicked.

"Sorry! I am so sorry!" Renzo yelled into the microphone, typing wildly. "Shrink down and take the next alley!"

Kaito watched the entire disaster from the sidewalk. He shook his head slowly. They had a lot of work to do.

Location: Shibuya – City Streets

Time: Day 3 (Wednesday) | 10:00 AM

Yu walked down the busy commercial street in her normal size. She wore her full hero costume.

A small crowd of teenagers and fans surrounded her.

"Mt. Lady! Can we get a picture?" a young girl asked excitedly.

"Of course you can!" Yu smiled warmly, throwing up a peace sign for the camera. She absolutely loved the attention.

She signed a few notebooks and chatted with the locals.

CRASH.

A jewelry store window shattered completely down the block.

Two villains with mutant lizard Quirks jumped out onto the sidewalk. They carried heavy duffel bags full of stolen watches and necklaces.

Yu immediately dropped the idol persona. Her face went completely serious. She stepped in front of the civilians, pushing them back with her arms. She prepared to grow.

SWISH.

A blur of brown wood swung down from the rooftops. Kamui Woods landed directly in front of the broken jewelry store.

"Damn! It's the wood guy!"

The two lizard villains froze.

Yu stopped right where she was. She remembered Kaito's strict advice from last week.

He told her to build a proper network with the veterans and never steal the spotlight just to get a good photo.

Yu stayed her normal size. She ran to the edge of the sidewalk and spread her arms out.

"Stand back!" Yu ordered the crowd loudly. "Give the heroes room to work!"

Kamui Woods raised his arm toward the robbers.

"Pre-Emptive Binding!" Kamui yelled.

Thick wooden branches shot out of his arm. The wood was incredibly dark and thick like and iron.

It was the exact resilient, fireproof upgrade Kaito developed for him in the past.

The branches wrapped tightly around the two villains, completely restraining them.

HISS.

Small vents on Kamui's support gear opened up.

A concentrated cloud of paralyzing venom spores released straight into the villains' faces.

The two lizards inhaled the spores and dropped unconscious instantly.

The police arrived a minute later to bag the evidence.

Kamui Woods turned around and walked over to Yu.

"Good crowd control, Mt. Lady," Kamui Woods said politely. "Usually, the new rookies try to jump in and start throwing wild attacks in the middle of a busy street. You secured the perimeter perfectly."

"I figured you had it completely under control," Yu smiled. "Good catch. Your wood looks a lot tougher than it used to."

"It is," Kamui nodded, tapping his arm. "Golden Manager contracted me in the past. It changed my entire career. I heard he is managing your agency now."

"Hehe... He is definitely working me to the bone," Yu laughed.

They chatted for a few more minutes about the Shibuya patrol routes before splitting up. Yu walked away feeling great.

Kaito was absolutely right. Playing nice with the veterans made the job much easier.

Location: Industrial Scrap Yard

Time: Day 6 (Saturday) | 03:00 PM

Massive delivery crates from Detnerat-Shield sat open on the dirt.

Yu stood in the middle of the empty scrap yard.

She wore a pair of sleek, silver metallic gauntlets on her wrists.

"Try them out," Kaito instructed. He stood a safe distance away behind a stack of crushed cars.

Yu activated her Quirk.

WHOOSH.

She shot up into the sky, growing to twenty-two meters.

The silver gauntlets automatically scaled up with her body, adjusting perfectly to fit her giant arms.

"Focus the kinetic energy down to your wrists," Kaito called out through the earpiece.

Yu raised her right arm. She aimed at a towering pile of rusted metal parts.

ZAAAAAP.

The gauntlet absorbed the massive kinetic force of her swing.

A bright, concentrated beam of light shot out from the metal plating.

The laser slammed directly into the scrap pile.

The metal instantly melted and exploded into pieces.

Yu lowered her arm. Her eyes were completely wide. She stared at the smoking crater.

"That is the coolest thing I have ever done!" Yu yelled happily. She raised her left arm, getting ready to blast another car into pieces.

"Stop," Kaito ordered over the radio.

Yu paused.

She shrank back down to her normal human size and walked over to him.

"Why? Did I do it wrong?" Yu asked, looking at the silver gauntlets.

Kaito tapped the screen on his data pad.

"The scientists sent the final spec sheet," Kaito explained, showing her the numbers. "Converting a giant's raw kinetic energy into photon lasers takes a massive internal capacitor. The battery life is incredibly strict. You get exactly one hour of active combat before the gauntlets overheat and lock up entirely."

Yu frowned. "Only one hour?"

"Yes," Kaito said. "That means you cannot just spam lasers from the sky. You have to save the blasts for the really big threats. For everything else, you are going to rely on the martial arts in the future."

Location: Shibuya – Mt. Lady Agency

Time: Day 9 (Tuesday) | 11:00 AM

The logistics team was finally moving perfectly.

BEEP.

"High-speed chase on the highway heading south," Sora called out instantly, cutting right through the heavy police static. "Three cars involved."

"Routing," Renzo said calmly. He didn't panic this time. He traced a clean line on his digital map. "Mt. Lady, take the 9th Street overpass. It avoids the subway tunnels and the fragile pedestrian bridges."

Yu ran down the street, listening to the earpiece.

"Got it," Yu replied.

FWOOOP.

She turned the corner, grew to her giant size, and stepped cleanly over the highway wall.

She didn't break a single streetlamp. She already somewhat got the spatial positioning that Kaito had drilled her for the past weeks.

Mt. Lady reached down, grabbed the fleeing suspect's car, and simply picked it up off the road.

She stopped the chase in ten seconds.

Back in the office, Rei hit the send button on her computer.

"I just emailed the standard public safety report to the local precinct," Rei announced confidently. "All the paperwork is already cleared."

Yu shrank back down and stretched her arms. While dealing with the aftermath.

She walked back to the agency for her afternoon physical conditioning and stopped outside the gym doors and took a deep breath.

Huff-puff.

Yu realized she wasn't breathing heavily at all. The brutal weightlifting and daily cardio were actually working. Her body felt incredibly full.

She walked down the stairs and stepped onto the blue mats.

"Hey, Kaito," Yu smiled, dropping her gym bag on the floor. "Can we finally start practicing the actual Quirk applications now?"

Location: U.A. Academy – Class 2-A Room

Time: 01:00 PM

CHATTER.

The classroom was loud. The second-year students were sitting on their desks, talking and laughing before the afternoon bell rang.

Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire sat near the back, joining in on the conversations.

SLAM.

The giant classroom door slid open violently.

"I AM ENTERING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

All Might marched into the room. He wore his bright red, white, and blue Silver Age costume.

He planted his hands on his hips and flashed a massive smile at the class.

The entire room went crazy.

"Whoa! It's really him!" a student yelled.

Mirio cheered loudly, throwing his hands in the air. Nejire clapped excitedly. Even Tamaki looked up with wide eyes.

Having the Number One Hero actually teach their class felt completely surreal.

"Settle down, everyone!" All Might laughed loudly. "Today, we dive straight into Foundational Hero Studies! We are doing indoor combat trials. Press the buttons on your desks, grab your costume cases, and meet me down at Ground Beta!"

*-*-*

Location: U.A. Academy – Ground Beta Observation Room

The dark observation room was packed with second-year students. The wall was covered in massive monitor screens showing the inside of a fake concrete building.

All Might stood at the front of the room. He held a clipboard and a pen.

"Listen closely!" All Might instructed the class. "This is a two-versus-two exercise. The villains are hiding a fake nuclear payload inside the building. The heroes must secure the payload or capture the villains with this white capture tape. If you are the villains, act like it! Embrace the role!"

He pulled two random balls out of a lottery box.

"Match One!" All Might called out. "Mirio Togata and Hiroshi against Kenji Daido and Goro Ito! Get to your starting positions!"

Down on the street level, Mirio and his teammate Hiroshi stood outside the fake building.

Hiroshi crouched down, drawing a quick map in the dirt with his finger.

"Okay, Togata," Hiroshi said seriously, coming up with a plan. "We know Daido's metal skin is super tough. Ito has range. I will run down the main hallway and make a lot of noise. You sneak around the back stairs while they are distracted."

Mirio just smiled brightly and cracked his knuckles.

BEEP.

The loud starting buzzer echoed across the fake city.

"I got it!" Mirio cheered.

Hiroshi stood up to run.

FWOOSH.

But Mirio didn't run down the hallway. He dropped straight into the concrete floor.

He didn't just pop up blindly. He used the exact development Kaito taught him in the dark underground last time.

He angled his knees against the solid foundation and let the earth violently reject his mass.

SWISH. SWISH. SWISH. SWISH.

He shot out of the floor like a bullet, bounced directly off the hallway wall, repelled off the ceiling, and dropped right behind Daido in a zigzag blur.

Daido was guarding the payload door. He was entirely hardened in silver metal, yelling a fake villain taunt.

TAP.

Mirio casually touched the fake nuclear weapon sitting in the center of the room.

"Hero Team wins!" the automated voice declared.

"THE HELL!!" Daido spun around in absolute shock.

Mirio was just standing there, giving him a thumbs-up.

"What's going on?" Hiroshi was still standing outside at the starting line. He hadn't even taken a single step into the building yet.

Back in the observation room, the classmates stared at the screens.

"He didn't even let Hiroshi finish his sentence," Yuyu Haya muttered in disbelief.

"I know he wrecked those giant rock monsters at the summer camp," a student whispered. "But seeing that speed indoors is just ridiculous. You literally cannot hit him."

All Might wrote a single checkmark on his clipboard. He cleared his throat.

"Match Two!" All Might announced.

The next match featured four standard classmates. It was a complete mess.

BOOM.

CRASH.

The students spent fifteen straight minutes screaming their attacks out loud and brawling in the hallways.

They blew massive holes in the fake walls and completely destroyed the stairs.

They barely managed to tie the villain team up with the capture tape right as the time limit expired.

"Hero Team wins," All Might sighed over the microphone. "However, I am deducting heavy points from both teams for severe property damage. You destroyed the building you were supposed to protect."

The stark contrast was glaringly obvious.

"Match Three!" All Might called out. "Nejire Hado and Mika against Yuyu Haya and Reiko!"

Down at the building, Nejire and her teammate Mika stood at the entrance.

Up on the third floor, Yuyu and Reiko were frantically dragging heavy steel desks and metal lockers across the room.

They barricaded the payload room completely, blocking the main doors and the windows.

"Okay, Nejire-chan," Mika said, looking up at the barricaded third floor. "They boarded up the entire room. We have to rush the stairs and break the door down together."

"Nope!" Nejire smiled.

Fwoot. Fwoot.

She activated the new mobility techniques that Kaito developed for her. Instead of blasting loud waves of air, she spun a tiny spiral of energy inside her shoes.

She floated straight up the side of the building in total silence. She didn't make a sound.

She hovered right outside the barricaded third-story window.

"Hehe. Take this villains!"

She cupped her hands together and left a tiny diamond gap between her fingers.

HUFF.

She took a deep breath, remembering Nighteye's strict warning about collateral damage.

BZZZT—PEW.

A hyper-compressed kinetic laser ripped out of her hands.

It didn't blow the wall up.

It shot a clean, coin-sized hole straight through the thick concrete, completely bypassing the steel desks.

The laser perfectly tapped the payload's red sensor button.

BEEP. BEEP.

"Hero Team wins!" the voice announced.

Inside the room, Yuyu and Reiko jumped in shock.

They stared at the tiny smoking hole in the wall.

"Hey! That is completely unfair!" Yuyu yelled into her radio comms. "She didn't even enter the building!"

Down in the observation room, All Might furiously scribbled notes on his grading rubric. He was completely stunned by her restraint.

"Match Four!" All Might announced.

Another standard match happened. It ended terribly.

A student with an temperature Quirk panicked during a hallway brawl and accidentally froze the entire nuclear payload solid, automatically failing the objective for both teams.

All Might rubbed his forehead. 'There are a lot of things needed to do.'

"Match Five," All Might said. "Tamaki Amajiki and Ren against Makoto and Shoda!"

Tamaki stood at the starting line next to Ren.

Ren pulled up his sleeves. "Okay, Amajiki. Makoto has a long-range Quirk. We should split up. I will take the left flank and distract him. You sneak around the right."

Tamaki didn't reply.

He didn't panic.

He just reached down to his waist. He wore a sleek, multi-chamber support belt from the school.

Click.

He clicked a dial on the buckle and popped a highly condensed protein pellet into his mouth.

Crunch. Crunch.

He chewed it quickly.

Muscle memory took over entirely. He didn't struggle to layer the materials anymore.

SHHH-POP.

Thick purple octopus tentacles burst from his arms.

Heavy, dark centipede exoskeleton armor instantly grew over the tentacles, locking together like chainmail.

Two massive bull horns sprouted from his head.

He whipped the armored tentacles straight down the hallway.

BAAM.

Makoto jumped out from a side room and fired a blast of fire.

The flames hit the centipede armor and bounced off harmlessly.

The tentacles shot forward, wrapping around Makoto and Shoda instantly.

Tamaki hoisted both of them up to the ceiling before they could even blink.

"Hero Team wins!"

Ren just stood at the starting line. He slowly lowered his arms.

"Never mind," Ren muttered to himself.

Back in the observation room, the matches were finally over. The room was loud with chatter.

Tamaki walked through the door.

Makoto ran right up to him. He looked completely frustrated.

"Hey, Amajiki!" Makoto demanded aggressively. "How did your tentacles tank my fire? You completely ignored our ambush!"

Tamaki froze.

His social anxiety flared up instantly. He really wanted to look at his boots and mumble an apology to make the guy go away.

Gulp.

Tamaki swallowed hard. He planted his boots on the floor. He squared his shoulders.

He looked Makoto right in the eyes and delivered a dead stoic glare from under his dark hood.

"..."

Makoto actually took a step back. The intense, deadly silence completely freaked him out.

"Uh, my bad man," Makoto said nervously, holding his hands up. He quickly backed away into the crowd.

Tamaki let out a quiet sigh of relief.

A few feet away, Yuyu whispered to Reiko.

"Amajiki is so intense now," Yuyu noted, looking at him. "He used to just stare at the wall. Now he looks like an actual pro."

All Might stood near the control console. He lowered his clipboard and wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead.

He looked at Mirio laughing with the class. He looked at Nejire explaining her laser to a classmate. He looked at Tamaki quietly holding his ground.

All Might realized he had absolutely zero foundational advice to give these three teenagers.

He knew Mirai took them for an internship last time. He knew Kaito-shonen handled their quirk developments.

Whatever Kaito and Mirai did to them, it turned three struggling students into seasoned fighters.

All Might smiled warmly to himself. He felt a massive wave of pride.

The future of the hero industry was standing right in his classroom.

But.

'Should I meet Midoriya-shonen this weekend or not.' All Might thought.

Location: Industrial Scrap Yard

Time: 02:00 PM

The afternoon sun beat down on the dirt lot.

Yu stood in the very center of the scrap yard in her twenty-two-meter form. She was already sweating heavily from her morning gym session.

Kaito stood safely on top of a crushed car holding a megaphone.

"Okay!" Kaito's voice echoed across the yard. "Try the sprinting!"

Yu crouched down low.

She put all the tension directly into her massive calf muscles, remembering the digital whiteboard diagrams. She aimed for the far fence.

She pushed off the ground with maximum force.

CRACK.

Her giant foot dug entirely too deep into the soft earth.

The ground literally shattered under her massive weight.

Her balance completely vanished before she even moved forward.

She pitched headfirst and crashed straight into the dirt.

THUD.

She completely flattened a stack of rusted sedans. A massive cloud of dust covered the entire yard.

"Ugh"

Yu groaned.

She shrank back down to her normal human size and sat in the dirt crater.

Ptui. Ptui. Ptui.

She rubbed her bruised nose and spit brown dust out of her mouth.

Kaito walked over. He handed her a cold water bottle.

"My legs just gave out," Yu complained, taking the bottle. She dropped the formal honorifics completely. "Kaito, what went wrong?"

"Your center of gravity is completely off," Kaito told her bluntly. "You pushed your massive weight straight down into the dirt. You need to push it forward. If you tripped like that in Shibuya, you would have flattened an entire apartment building."

Yu winced at the thought.

"Reset," Kaito instructed, pointing back to the center of the yard. "We go again."

*-*-*

Location: Industrial Scrap Yard

Time: Three Days After | 04:00 PM

Yu stood in her giant form again. She planted her feet firmly on the ground. She took a deep breath, trying to ignore the deep soreness in her arms and back.

"Try the sonic clap," Kaito ordered over the radio earpiece. "Compress the air."

Yu pulled her massive arms all the way back.

She brought them forward with every ounce of strength she had. She slammed her heavy forearms together directly in front of her chest.

BAM.

The air instantly compressed between her giant arms.

SWOOOSH.

A massive shockwave of wind fired forward, completely clearing the dust out of the yard.

But.

The recoil was huge.

The sheer wind pressure pushed violently against her own chest.

It blew her completely backward. She stumbled, almost lost her footing.

"Saved." Yu regained her balance.

Kaito sighed through the radio static.

"You are just standing straight up like a bowling pin, Yu," Kaito said. "We spent the last week doing core workouts for this exact reason. Drop your hips. Widen your stance. You have to actively push your weight down to anchor yourself against the wind."

Yu slowly stood back up, brushing metal scraps off her costume.

"Right," Yu muttered. "Anchor the feet. Got it."

*-*-*

Location: Golden Bites Restaurant

Time: Five Days Later (Friday) | 08:00 PM

The massive fast-food restaurant was packed.

Golden Bites is complete with bright red and yellow branding.

It was highly commercialized, insanely popular, right now.

Mt. Lady sat in the booth with Cow Lady. The table was covered in empty burger wrappers and large fries. They accidentally met this morning and tried this famous fast food restaurant.

Yu took a huge bite of her spicy chicken sandwich.

"I am so incredibly sore," Yu mumbled with her mouth full. "He makes me eat dirt every single day. I fall over, I trip, I get blown backward by my own wind. It is terrible."

"Hehe." Pam laughed out loud, taking a sip of her soda.

"He is so strict," Yu sighed, stealing a fry from the tray. "He just stands there with his little timer and tells me my center of gravity is wrong."

Yu suddenly paused. She froze mid-chew.

She just remembered something extremely important. According to the news that she knew, Cow Lady flew all the way from America to Japan and secured a branch agency here to secure a contract with Kaito.

But Kaito didn't pick her. He picked me.

The booth went completely silent. Yu didn't know what to say. The air felt incredibly awkward.

"What's wrong?" Pam asked.

"I am so sorry," Yu mumbled awkwardly, putting her fry down.

"...."

Pam stared at her for two seconds.

Then, Pam burst into a loud, genuine belly laugh after she guessed her apology. She waved her hand dismissively.

"Oh, relax, Takeyama!" Pam smiled brightly. "There are absolutely no hard feelings. Yeah, I wanted him to manage me. The guy is a genius. But he picked a good one. You are a newcomer, learning from him also benefits the society."

Yu let out a massive sigh of relief. She slumped back against the booth cushion.

"That is just how training works," Pam continued, giving her some veteran advice. "Quirks are physical muscles. You have to fail a hundred times before your body figures out the mechanics. And honestly? The guy knows exactly what he is doing."

Pam pointed a fry at Yu.

"Look at your debut," Pam said. "You caught an armored van without breaking a single window. The media completely loves you. Your logistics team runs the streets perfectly. You are already dominating the rookie rankings in less than a month."

Yu smiled a little bit. She couldn't deny the results.

Kaito was a tough guy, and the daily grind was brutal, but her agency was running flawlessly.

*-*-*

Location: Industrial Scrap Yard

Time: Six Days Later (Thursday) | 03:00 PM

Yu stood in her giant form. She crouched low to the dirt.

HUUF.

She took a deep breath. She remembered the massive crater from her first try.

She adjusted her footing carefully, making sure her boots rested flat on the soil.

She engaged the core muscles she spent three weeks building in the basement gym and kept her back completely straight to fix her center of gravity.

WHOOSH.

She dashed forward instantly.

Mt. Lady covered fifty meters in a micro-second burst of raw speed.

SKRRRT.

She stopped perfectly, sliding just slightly on the dirt and remained completely balanced and upright.

She didn't trip.

Kaito stood near the cars. He nodded in absolute approval. He wrote a firm checkmark on his data pad.

"Good work Yu."

*-*-*

Location: Industrial Scrap Yard

Time: Six Days Later (Wednesday) | 05:00 PM

Crackling.

A massive pile of old rubber tires burned brightly in the center of the yard.

Thick black smoke filled the sky.

Kaito set the fire up on purpose to create a real hazard.

Mt. Lady activated her quirk.

She walked up to the burning pile. The heat was intense.

This time, she didn't just stand there like a bowling pin. She widened her stance aggressively.

She dropped her hips and pushed her massive weight straight down, anchoring her feet heavily into the dirt.

She swung her arms forward and clapped her hands together with maximum force.

CLAP.

BOOOM. SWIISH.

The air violently compressed into a physical wall of pressure. The shockwave blasted forward like a cannon.

It slammed directly into the burning tires.

The sheer wind force instantly suffocated the flames, pulling the oxygen completely out of the air. The massive tire fire simply died in a single second.

Mt. Lady stood up straight. She looked down at her own giant hands.

A massive, wild grin spread across her face. She finally mastered it.

"Finally! I DID IT! Kaito I did it."

"NICE JOB!" Kaito shouted on the far side.

"Hehe... Thanks."

Location: Sir Nighteye's Agency – Main Office

Time: Two Day After| Saturday | 10:00 AM

The office was completely quiet.

Izuku Midoriya sat alone on the comfortable leather couch.

He wore his casual weekend clothes. He stared down at his own sneakers.

He was muttering rapidly under his breath.

"Why did Sir Nighteye tell me to wait here?" Izuku mumbled frantically, biting his thumbnail.

"He said someone important wanted to meet me. What if it is the police? What if a detective figured it out? What if they found a piece footage of Greenhood near my house? Sir Nighteye said he deleted all the digital footprints and camera footage of my vigilante work, but what if he missed one? What if someone recognized my fighting style in the future? What if ..."

He was completely spiraling. His brain couldn't stop overthinking every single worst-case scenario.

Meow.

Kuro, sat right next to him on the couch.

Kuro looked at the panicking teenager. The cat looked completely annoyed by the rapid, endless muttering.

Kuro raised his small black paw.

SMACK.

The cat lightly slapped Izuku right on his face.

Izuku flinched.

He stopped biting his nail. He looked down at the cat.

"Meow."

Kuro just stared back at him, giving a soft, quiet meow that basically told him to shut up and calm down.

Huff-puff.

Izuku let out a long breath. He rubbed his face.

"You are right, Kuro," Izuku whispered. "I am just overthinking it. Sir Nighteye wouldn't make a mistake. It is probably just a friendly hero from another agency coming to talk about an internship."

Suddenly, a loud commotion echoed from the hallway outside.

Izuku heard heavy, massive footsteps shaking the floorboards.

The heavy footsteps stopped right in front of the office door.

CLICK.

The door handle turned. The door swung open violently.

A massive shadow filled the entire doorway, blocking out the hallway lights.

"I AM HERE!"

A boisterous, legendary laugh echoed off the office walls.

All Might stepped entirely into the room.

He wore his bright hero costume, and he flashed his trademark, blinding smile directly at the couch.

"It is very good to finally meet you, Midoriya-shonen!" All Might announced loudly.

"...."

Izuku stopped breathing.

His eyes went incredibly wide. His jaw dropped completely open.

He sat frozen on the couch, completely paralyzed and speechless, staring at the Number One Hero greeting him.
